I was quite shocked to realise that the top letter on the chart at the opticians is blurred without my contacts in. I put them in when I get up and take them out last thing so it was only when I took them out to have my eyes tested that I realised I was that blind.

I wana get contacts but their too expensive, im gona save up and buy some frameless glasses which i can wear all the time and not look as geeky as i do with my other specs!

Contact lenses will most likely be cheaper than rimless specs with thin lenses.
Depending on your prescription, you can get contact lenses for about 15 quid a month.

If you don't have a source of income you should apply for a health exemption form, which makes eye tests/dentist fees and contacts etc free.
p.s Are carrots really good for your eyes?

I'm a student so i get ema so i wont be allowed to get that form thingy. I'll just have to save up 200 pounds and buy some from specsavers! And as for carrots, i don't think they work. I've been eating them for ages and they haven't made a difference to my eyes.
A health exemption is also for people with little money coming through....I don't work and I'm surviving on my PGCE bursury money at the moment. But I was still granted the health exemption.
Ironically though, my sister doesnt work either and unlike me, she has has to pay her Uni fees as well and yet her health exemption was rejected.
There's no harm in trying.
By the way, is it true that once you start to wear glasses your eyesight deteriotes cos they start to rely on the glasses...my brother failed his eye test but he isnt wearing glasses, cos he was told that his eye sight isnt that bad, and if he starts to wear glasses they'd only get worse.

Yes that’s true. If i was to take of my glasses and walk outside, I’d probably get knocked over. I'm very dependent on my glasses now. Only wear them if you need them real bad.

Carrots have Vitamin A in them so they are supposed to be good for your eyes, in fact anything which has Vitamin A in it is good for your eyes.
Did you know that if you eat too many carrots, your skin will turn yellow! The reason being you have probably saturated your body's ability to store vitamin A over a short time and so it is showing up as an orange tint on your skin. It is best too limit the amount of carrots you eat if your skin turns yellow/orange, bcoz too much Vitamin A can kill a person!
Noor don't expect carrots to work like magic, just bcoz carrots are supposed to be good for eyes doesn't mean they'll cure you from blindness

What I'm trying to say is that don't eat something and expect to have good eyesight.
Having problems with your eyes can result in sometimes irreversible damage.

ud have to munch on carrots like rabbits to go yellow, come on most ppl don't eat that many. Just one large carrot is too much for most ppl.
oi oi spinach buna with chicken yum yum or same style with prawns deeeelicious. Don't cook the spinach into a mush like most punjabis do, keep the bright green colour if u can, otherwise u lose all the vitamins no point eating it. i hate mushy, slimy spinach, prefer it slightly on the crisp side.
Well Dr bro can too much iron have bad side effects? coz im above average ive been told not to take iron tablets or supplements.
Submitted by MuslimBro on 11 February, 2007 - 16:57 #467
One of the reasons why mothers are told to breastfeed their child is because the milk is rich in iron compared to cows milk or even infant formula's.
Did you know that the WHO considers iron deficiency the number one nutritional disorder in the world, and estimates that as many as 80% of the world's population may be iron deficient. Anyway to answer your question about too much iron.
Excess amounts of iron or iron overload can result in:
- toxicity
- several genetic diseases
- and even death

We went out last night, dinner and the symphony (La Damnation de Faust) and I'll tell you what England can keep John Williams, Levine is absolutely brilliant!

Babies need sleep to grow….plus eating, bathing, crying and having their nappy changed tires them out.
You’re lucky they sleep so much….most parents have the problem of their baby being awake all night and asleep throughout the day.

I've learnt that I'm a terrible judge of character. It depresses me how many times I've been proven wrong about people. :?
Just don't judge then.
Works for me.
If you need to trust someone...you need to form an opinion of them.
Maybe you're expecting too much from people.
you can usually judge a persons character by seeing how they interact with other people... usually people who are his inferiors.
Back in BLACK
Not really. All I expect from people is to be all that they say they are.
I usually trust their word. So it really depresses me when their actions prove otherwise.
Don't trust their word then.
Make excuses for them if they don't do what they said they'd do.
Or... just dont trust anyone unless they have given you a reason to trust them.
Back in BLACK
How can you be that suspicious minded. :?
easy... i try not to think about it... it'll only complicate things.
