What Did You learn Today?

It is said that "knowledge is what you hear from the mouths of men as they only repeat the best of what they have heard"

I think it’d be useful to post tid-bits of invaluable information-religious/non religious here in this thread.

It can be stuff that you learnt in work/Uni/Mosque/in a talk/something a wise elder told you/a life experience or something that you suddenly realised.

It can be minor or major stuff. It has to be stuff that you never knew before.

Today I learnt…

1-Why I shouldn’t trust, join or think highly of the Sufi Muslim Council

2-It’s quicker for me to get to Uni by Car than public transport.

3-Rubicon Pomegranate juice is tasty and apparently very good for you.

4-Spending so much time typing on computers leads to illegible handwriting and poor spelling

5-Being in the spotlight on a regular basis results in a higher chance of insincerity in actions and can negate all good work.

London is so squashed for space that some schools resort to using public places for their pupils leisure and studies.

In the school I worked in today, pupils used a GRAVEYARD as their playground. :?

its purely a cultural thing, we've been conditioned to beleive it is like that.

wheares i dont know the position of that in islam (nor do i particularly care :roll: ) but if sum1 did that on my grave i wud not really care.

look at it from another point of view:
1. Hows it disrespectful when these dead ppl dont know?

2. How is it `dodgy`?
if i was u i wud cut down on all them horrer films 😉

3. Why is it creapy? we all gotta die someday.

4. and as for `wrong` whats so bad about it?

my kashmiri m8s have told me that in kashmir there are ppl's skeletons on the floor, and ppl step over them like its a bit of rubbish

to beleive that is immorel is nothing but cultural conditioning

UNLESS u can provide evidence that islamically it is wrong - i have heard MANY ppl say that it is wrong according to the deen, yet i have NEVER heard any1 provide evidence 4 it.

Allah sees and hears all.

ofcourse it isnt allowd, wud sum1 do that to the graves of the awliya, prophets, sahabahs/sahbiyas?

Its about RESPECT.

im sure its not allwd in Islam to do sumthing so awful n disgusting.

no those ppl in the graves cannot here us, its nothing but baseless superstition :roll:

muhammads case is an exception- i will not be going into that.

the dead cannot hear or see - u canoot PROVE that it is against the deen to play in a graveyard

plenty of ppl say "i'm sure" but none of them have ever proven that...

personally i wud go and answer tht question by saying its someone u find a personal attachment to, through their teaching spirtuality and most of all thier company. teh first time i sat under shayke ul islam i had goosebumps , i was also shaking by heart was beating so fast shayke speeche was at teh same time power but also breathtaking, i cnt reli put in words hw i felt bt from that day onwards i knew i had found my shayke.
