Generous lawyer

A local United Way office realized that the organization had never received a donation from the town's most successful lawyer. The person in charge of contributions called him to persuade him to contribute.

"Our research shows that out of a yearly income of at least $500,000, you give not a penny to charity. Wouldn't you like to give back to the community in some way?"

The lawyer mulled this over for a moment and replied, "First, did your research also show that my mother is dying after a long illness, and has medical bills that are several times her annual income?"

Embarrassed, the United Way rep mumbled, "Um ... no."

The lawyer interrupts, "or that my brother, a disabled veteran, is blind and confined to a wheelchair?"

The stricken United Way rep began to stammer out an apology, but was interrupted again.

"or that my sister's husband died in a traffic accident," the lawyer's voice rising in indignation, "leaving her penniless with three children?!"

The humiliated United Way rep, completely beaten, said simply, "I had no idea..."

On a roll, the lawyer cut him off once again, "So if I don't give any money to them, why should I give any to you?"

First one means:

The one who I desire, she desires another
May God make it that the one she desires, that he desires another.

Second:

The scent is from the flower not the bouquet,
Love is from the lover, not the nutters.

My trans aint that gud, and its word for word kind of so content and depth and meaning is lost in nasty old english !

Haseena means a beauty

Afsana means a strange story/tale
Zalim is an oppressor/ or a cruel person.

So translates as

Boy: If only the father of these beauties would die, it would be a strane story, to console them I would be able to to their house.

Girl: Dont even think it you cruel one, it is a sin, u too will one day be the father of a beauty.

I am a Muslim, but only by name
When it comes to practicing, what a shame!
Yes I practice, BUT when it suits me
Or more to the point, when it pleases society.
If I show my ankles, they'll point and laugh
They'll think it's too short and reckon I'm daft.
If I trim my moustache and grow the beard
They'll reckon I'm a fanatic or something weird.
If I wear the sunnah I'll get great reward
But the Kuffaar will look down on me, that I can't afford.
Yes I'm a Muslim, but only by name
I make excuses which I admit are rather lame.
Yes I'm a sane man and I'm on the right track
Who am I kidding, I feel like a right jack!
To hide my inferiority complex I protest
it's unimportant
Though my heart screams to tell me I'm a blatant fraudulent
The best thing is no-one can hear what's going on inside
People think I've got it made and with my life I'm satisfied.
But I'm afraid this is a fable and it's a pure deception
I have no peace of mind but this I daren't even mention.
If I remain ignorant it's OK, 'cos then I don't have to practice
Yes I'm conniving and these are baseless evil tactics.
But I read the Kalima and I think I have Imaan
I can't help my attitude - I was placed in a Kufrstaan.
Yes I'm a Muslim, but only by name
And with my precious life I'm playing a foolish disastrous game!

Listen to the 99 names of Holy Prophet ﷺ and "Har waqt" they both are my favourite, havnt listened to any others. "Har Waqt" is for those who have been to Madina brings bak memories but also for those who have a longing to be there and die there.

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.

Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans
played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked warm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by.

Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it. In his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Days and weeks passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who haddied peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.

As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could
be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the
switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed.It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."

Epilogue:
There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can't buy.

"Today is a gift, that's why it is called the present."

Compared to an unfaithful love ac cigarette is better,
It burns the heart, but atleast it touches the lips.

It was the time of the marital night,
It was on the night of the full moon.

Groom came close to his bride and lifting her veil says,
''Bride you are like my number 4!''
Bride says: ''What is this you say?
You have smashed my heart!''
Angrily she says: ''How many girls have come in your life?
What number am I in your heart?'

"You are my number one" says the Groom.
Hearing this Bride jumps in delight and says: '' Oh Khalid
He was my number 1 aswell,
But now its you isnt it(?)!"

Groom replies: "What is this you say?!"
Bride smile and replies: "I also have a measure of experience!"

Thats a bit of a bad one, but cracked me up.

Invictus

by William Ernest Henley

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I've got Inayet Petker Salutations.

Except it's not Salutations.

It's called Celebrating The 99 Names of Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W.)

Prob an older recording.

Yeah Hayder, I see what you mean about his English singing.
