Its so you dont end up as an un-educated hillbilly.
nt boverd about dat
its a short life
Then how do you expect to get a decent job? Or does that not worry you either? Perhaps you'd prefer the taxi or the corner shop... or even a waiter at the local restaurant.
exams
A waiter needs to write orders down, no education means you could end up illiterate so thats that job out of the window. Taxi driver is a really stressfull job, yeah at first its all fun and games but it has no real career prospects and 12 hour shifts dont seem to make you happy.
Okay let me rephrase the question what is the triple award? do you get three awards for what?
what you on about i said triple award dont exist and you said it does so why you asking me?
exams
So how come my gcse option says triple science?
exams
How am i suppose to know?
On the aqa website which YOU told me to have a look at there is no mention of triple award science.
exams
Just give me time
exams
I know im right because i just do i will get some physical evidence from my teacher.
exams
ok lil funzi you take all the time you need il be waitin lol.
exams
What do you call it when you get one award for science?
exams
either 21st century science or applied science
exams
Wouldnt that be classed as singular?
exams
ok let me break this down for you lil funzi
21st century/applied science = 1 GCSE grade
double award science = 2 identical GCSE grades
single award science = 3 GCSE grades, 1 in bio, 1 in chem, 1 in physics.
the latter is more risky coz if you are weak in one of those areas then it will be reflected in your grade. The other two all the marks are added up and averaged.
exams
I understand the process the aqa award works like this:
normal science students get a double award: C1A, c1b c3 additional science
Triple science or single science:
C1a c1b C2additional C3 futher sciences

am sure shez right tho
singular award for each topic so its triple award
bt then y do they call it triple n not singular?
i thought singular is when you only get 1 GCSE grade for it
exams
What's in a name? That which we call a GCSE
By any other name would smell as sweet.

Back when I was doing GCSE's triple award was:
3 GCSE grades, 1 in bio, 1 in chem, 1 in physics.
If Naz is right, then they've just changed the name 'triple' to 'single'.

Thats the thing they havent.
exams
Different exam boards have different exams.
The options are
1. single award - all three sciences in one for one GCSE - least amount of work.
2. Dual award - the more common - the sciences are worth two GCSE's.
3. You get three GCSE's. You do three subjects for one set of three GCSE's - triple award, or each science separately - three sets of single.
I may be wrong, but I am getting bored of reading people going round in circles on this.
exams
I was thinking the same thing.
But I was waiting for an authoritative figure (You) to say something first.
exams
I know i am right.
exams
In the United Kingdom, Triple Award Science, unlike Single Award Science and Double Award Science, is not combined GCSE study of science - rather, the term is a short-hand reference to individual GCSE subjects in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
exams
Thank you!
