Congrats Naz - im sure you worked hard.

As sis Noor said, she must have read it on Minhaj forum, but yeah....i got 2:1 Biggrin

Couldn't believe it, but Alhamdulillah the hard work payed off, and the duas were accepted.

I screwed up on Evidence (expected) and Succession, but killed it in Equity (got 72 in the exam!), IP (70 in the exam!), Company and Family....narrowly got it, but got it.

Graduated in Law with 2:1, still cant believe it Biggrin

...oh, and what they say about asian parents isnt a joke - not mine, but my uncle....he thinks i didnt get a 1st class degree coz im lazy....i worked my a** off, started revising 7 weeks before the 1st exam

congrats to you as well may Allah (swt) continue to give you knowledge and may you be successful in everything you do.
Your parents must be really proud of you. Ignore you uncles remarks you should be proud its very rare for ppl to get a first.
Everybody did crap on evidence. Was succession not 75% exam?

I can’t believe you started revisin 7 weeks before now that’s what I call real dedication and hard work. My first exam was equity started revisin 2 days before! but only because i fell behind with my dissertation so spent more time on that because worth 2 subjects. Didn’t do too badly in equity i thought i messed it up coz the charities ques was a bit iffy.

Have you got a training contract yet?

Thankyou - yup, everyone was happy...especially my youngest brother!! lol

Yes succession was 75% exam, i got 2:2 for that, 3rd for evidence.......but the other 4 were in the top ends of a 2:1 so i made it in the end.

How did you do in dissertation? Some people missed out on 2:1 because of that.....i thought it would be too big of a risk for me to do that, and im glad i avoided it!

yeah i started 7 weeks eearly so i could read textbooks for ground reading, alongside notes, then summary notes, then journals, then further summarised notes.....for 6 moudles, you need that time! plus i knew i would chill in between, so i catered for that.

All in all....i revised a total of 11 weeks.....and boy, am i glad to see the back of John Rylands library.......somedays i would go there, work from 10 til 1, lunch....and spend til 5pm daydreaming lol

What were your marks per module?

Training contract? I havnt even applied!

My worst was criminology (no suprises there as i only attended 3 tutorials in the yr lol) got a 3rd. Evidence and dissertation got 2:2. Kim was a really good supervisor but most of the time she totally went off the topic and i didnt have a clue what she was on about lol. Got 2:1 for fam and equity.
Why didnt you apply for the BP law school for your lpc coz they want 2.1 or better and mmu only want 2:2 or better? I dont think many ppl are going to the graduation coz they have allocated extra tickets to ppl.

@Naz - you did law right...

"MuslimBro" wrote:

lol yeh im doing law

but you can pick other electives and criminology was one of them. I must have been half asleep when i picked it coz its soooooo boring lol (no offence to anyone who is actually studying it at either A-level or degree level).

No not the gum drop buttons! – Gingy

*Ehem* I think I'm the only one who's doing criminology here.

You say it's boring huh, well some of it is esp. the parts which are related to sociology but I say it's more interesting then law.

Come on, you're telling me that tort, contract, european law is interesting than learning about crime and criminals.

im sooooooo sorry i didnt mean any offence.
Yeh i got to agree some aspects of law are boring (the ones you have stated above) but some aspects are interesting such as criminal and family law.

There was some aspects of criminology that i did enjoy such as racist cops but the syllabus was a bit ancient because it concentrated on racism against black ppl. Racism in the 21st century by cops is directed towards young muslim men rather than young black men. Also the topic on rape was interesting as well but the rest a bit dry.

No you're right, the bits you have mentioned about institutional racism is boring and it's more sociological but that's what you have to learn if you do criminology.

We've done criminal law aswell and all we ever learn is anything related to crime and criminals. Murder for me was the most interesting....for obvious reasons.

i didnt say the racism but was boring :? that aspect i enjoyed even though it did anger me slightly (the attitude of the police but no suprises there). But yeh when i picked crim i thought it would be similar to ciriminal law but it was nothing like it. Theres defo more sociology involved which i dont like. Murder is a first for me with theft as a close 2nd (but only because of the cases some of them are hilarious). I take it that you switched courses then?

Well done to you too!

"Naz" wrote:

No, I'm still studying criminology.

Most of it is law based (criminal justice system, criminal law, ect.) but there's also sociology and psychology involved, sociology being the most boring.

We're doing prisons, forensic and criminal psychology next year so should be more interesting although I think criminal law (which I studied this year) was probably the most interesting.

Do you really think I would switch to law....never!
