Go on then. Quote a hadith which says you should NOT give the salutations.

It also talks about why we should not celebrate Muhammad’s birthday. But scroll down the page and it tells you the danger of excessive praise.

"Verily Allah sends his salat (Graces ,honour , blessing ,mercy etc ) on the Prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu Alaihi Wassallam) and also His Angels ( ask Allah to raise and the honour of our beloved Prophet (SallAllahu Alaihi Wassallam) O you who believe ! send salat ( darud ) on him ( Sayyiduna Muhammad peace and blessing of Allah be upon him ) and you should salute him. ( Surah Al- ahzab verse :56 )
You cannot excessively praise the Prophet (saw). Allah (swt) has raised his ﷺ status above all other creation. The christians called Hadhrat Isa god. That is shirk. But we believe the Prophet is a creation of God. The best creation. That is not shirk.
The Prophet ﷺ did not celebrate his birthday annualy, but weekly. Every monday.
In that case admin.
The offspring of Sayyidina Adam alayhis salaam were permitted to marry real siblings. Now we are not.
I see some people here dont think its shirk, then you are entitled to your views. Those were not shirk because ALLAH commanded the angels, and ALLAH had it written in the honour of the Nabi Yusuf alayhis salaam that the family would prostrate before him.
Those were the commands of ALLAH.
ALLAH has not commanded teh sajdah for any1 in this Ummah, it is shirk. And alhamdulillah I dont have a problem with that.
I have said what needed to be said.
Everyone can do what they like, corruption and confusion is rife.

That is a diferent thing.
Haraam is something that has been explicitly banned.
Shirk is associating another with Allah (swt)
An act that is not haraam can be amde haraam over time through new rules.
However shirk is still shirk, as it is still associating anoher with Allah (swt). You are suggesting such a thing was allowed, then banned. I disagree with that.
Corruption and confusion is rife.

Agreed.
Rulings concerning haraam and halaal have changed ove time.
However, the concept of tawheed has always remained the same.
All the Prophet preached the same message of tawheed.
Something can not be "Shirk" for us and not Shirk for another Ummah.

All that above is what you get when you listen to Wahhabis.
They do not know what the hell they are talking about.
Can you get a more stupid position than one in which you claim that there was a time when God permitted idolatry.
Jesus H Christ !!

tis tru
such a position suggests God allowed some people to commit shirk and then forbade it for others

Trust me, I am not God.
There is only One True God. And believe me, I'm not HIM !!
It was over-zealousness of the team on the Revival Board for labelling me God.
I have no idea why on Earth they would do such a thing.
Maybe they should explain it now.
Why would Allah (swt) allow the previous nations to commit Shirk?
EDIT; What Admin said... :?
i believe it wasnt considered as shirk then....coz at that time prostrating wasnt considered a symbol of worship...
ALLAH ordered the angels to prostrate before Aadam alahi salaam not for a token of respect but for a test and trail of the creatures that were present at that time ie. shaitaan failed his test
the element of prohibition was added with the passage of time.
I went to al-Hirah and saw them (the people) prostrating themselves before a satrap of theirs, so I said: The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) has most right to have prostration made before him. When I came to the Prophet (peace be upon him), I said: I went to al-Hirah and saw them prostrating themselves before a satrap of theirs, but you have most right, Apostle of Allah, to have (people) prostrating themselves before you. He said: Tell me , if you were to pass my grave, would you prostrate yourself before it? I said: No. He then said: Do not do so. If I were to command anyone to make prostration before another I would command women to prostrate themselves before their husbands, because of the special right over them given to husbands by Allah. Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 2135 Narrated by Qays ibn Sa'd (R.A)
So we should not prostrate towards anyone except Allah, we cannot prostrate towards any Awliya or Prophet, it is only Allah who has the right to be worshipped. Prostrating is an act of worship. The hadith also proves beyond any doubt that Prostrating before any grave is forbidden by the Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu 'alaihi wa Sallam), even before his own grave. This should be absolutely clear to anyone sincerely seeking the truth. The Prophet (Sallallahu 'alaihi wa Sallam) would stop anything that lead to Shirk, because, as we know, Shirk is one thing that Allah will not forgive, unless we repent sincerely and not repeat it.

I know it wasn’t considered Shirk then.
However, I don't believe the rules concerning Shirk can change over time. Something can not be Shirk for one Ummah and not be Shirk for another Ummah.
All Prophets preached the same concept of Tawheed.
We both agree that Sajda to anyone other then Allah (swt) is strictly forbidden.
However, you consider it Shirk. I'm not quick to shout Shirk at everything I see because accusing someone of committing Shirk is the same as accusing someone of being a Kafir.
And we all know that when a Muslim accuses another Muslim of being a Kafir then one of them is definitely a Kafir.
I rather be safe then sorry.

I didnt see anyone doing that.
And, I certainly did not see anyone bowing before me.
I once read that Eric Clapton is God.
Anyway, This topic is not about the my status, or the status of Eric Clapton.
This is all about bowing before Prophet Muhammad.

So…In the past this “Shirk” act was allowed and now it isn’t’?
I can understand that many things that are considered haraam today were not haraam for the past nations…and vice versa.
But I don’t understand how something can be Shirk for our nation and was not shirk for previous nations.
Why would Allah (swt) allow the previous nations to commit Shirk?
