Not as much as a knife

speaking of which they're cracking down on knife crime. The penalty has gone up from 3-5 years.

MuslimBro โ€” Thu, 1 Jun 2006 - 15:22

The prisons are filling up and people are being released early even for serious crimes so I doubt someone will get 5 years for carrying knifes did you say.

It is a sharp and sure sword.

May we wield it against ourselves as well as others. Aameen.
THOSE WHOSE SHARE IS THE AAKHIRAH

It is narrated that Allah Ta`ala revealed to Hadhrat Moosa (alayhi salaam): "O Moosa! There are some of My servants, if they ask of Me the entire Jannat, I will give it to them, and if they ask Me for anything from this world, I will not give it to them, not because they are contemptible to Me, but because I desire to store up the treasures of My bounties for them in the Aakhirah. I save them from the world like a shepherd protects his flock from a wolf." [The world, Rasulullah -sallallahu alayhi wasallam - said, is carrion]

Ibn Umar (radhiallahu anhu) narrated that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said that everything has a key. The key of Jannat is to love the true and patient Fuqaraa and Masaakeen. oยญn the Day of Qiyaamah, they will be the companions of Allah Ta`ala.

Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) supplicated: "O Allah! Keep me alive as a Miskeen; let me die a Miskeen and raise me up (in Qiyaamah) in the assembly of the Masaakeen."

This supplication of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) is more than ample confirmation for the lofty rank and importance of the Fuqaraa and the Masaakeen. In his dua, Nabi-e-Kareem (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) did not ask for the Masaakeen to be raised up in his assembly. Rather, he supplicated to be resurrected in their group. This form of his du`aa significantly highlights the rank of the Fuqaraa.
Majlis Ul Ulama.

Well those are two different things... I mean I'm friends with nice people who believe all kinds of wacky stuff about 9/11. So long as we don't talk about politics we're cool... I think there are rules to any friendship.
Salaam Everyone, how you all doing?
I just joined this place.. so what do ya'll chat about?
Hi Hussnain!

Sorry I missed that, welcome to the forum - usually we chat about Islam related stuff, bicker, or I drag us dramatically off topic with pointlessly selfish updates about my personal life, things I find amusing or random pointless information. Hayder Dawud and Seraph are usually EXTREMELY HELPFUL in doing this, so much so we're really kind of a team - a fantastic four of off topic nonsense if you will.

We also discuss the magazine (that's less frequently) and politics, and horses.

Oh and Admin, we talk about Admin.

Behind his back

Yea I detest that! It seems like in every group there is a Mr Rogers running around asking how we "feel about that" - keep the psychological evaluation to yourself you empathetic freak!

I didn't give my dad anything for fathers day....he doesn't even know that it's fathers day....to be honest he doesn't even know that fathers day exists lol.

If theres mother and fathers day....why couldn't there be a sons day

MuslimBro โ€” Sun, 18 Jun 2006 - 23:45

True. But aren't you supposed to treat your parents with respect and give them presents regardless of what day it is...

Abit like valentines day....which was invented by romans I think.

Who invented mothers/fathers day anyway....

The Great 100 โ€” Tue, 20 Jun 2006 - 16:29

Father's day is no big deal but I was pleased to remember it and also to nudge my siblings and my father was pleased also, although nobody made much fuss. My dubious present was the gift of company and a card.
