This should help us fear Allah(swt)

If we are scared enough of Allah's(swt) punishment, Inshallah we should show this in our everyday acts. This link is really scary. We must seek his good pleasure. I hope this helps people to become more fearful of our Lord.

TOO complicated and deep

sufi books have pretty covers and catchy titles like "the fire of love"

but the info goes way over my head

the discuss love in a way I never looked at it before :?

I think Love and Fear should go hand in hand. It stem from something that Hazrat Umar (ra) said

"If I heard a voice from heaven saying: O people! All will go to paradise except one person, on account of my fear of allah I would think that I was that person. And if I heard a voice from the heaven saying that all will be consigned to hell except one person, I would on account of my trust in allah mercy, think that I must be that person"

Also there a hadith that also mention something similar.

"If a believer knew about the punishment of allah swt then no one would desire for paradise and if a disbeliever knew about the mercy of allah then no one would become hopless from paradise"

Sorry no reference, got them from my tafseer.

Sufi's. Aint they the guys who do the weird dancing stuff and totally lose themselves so that they've lost the plot while spinning around and their eyes wandering all over the place?

Tassawuf was good only at the early stages. They forsook worldy items for a life of devotion and constant remembrance of Allah. However they slowly began to introduce new ideas and beliefs which are seen by many as contradictory to the Shariah, like dancing/whirling listening to music to get into a trance etc.

Tassawuf is a concept. It is the same as before.

I take it you mean sufi's?

well as always good, and bad.

But regarding music there is a difference of opinion. some allow it, some don't. Most do.
