Islam is not the problem. Muslims are.
Their unwanted backward mentality of not wanting to change and wanting to be stuck in the 7th Century.
No civilised society would want to still whip women because they are rape victims (evident in S.A) no other set of people kill their own because they bring shame on the family (Honor Killings), no other set of people kill each other (like Muslims do) in the Name of MY religion (evident in War - Torn countries) notice how many suicide bombing happen every day? And who the main victims are? No other set of people think that the word "Allah" belongs to them simply because it is Arabic (Malaysia).
It is very easy to blame someone else. Yet Muslims have a problem of not wanting to blame their own (yet some would happily kill their own - irony)
I would support the Ban on the veil. It is not welcome in Britain. As i have witnessed, people are saying that this is oppressing the rights of women who WANT to wear it. And it is their choice.
Well...If an english women were to be in Saudi Arabia, would she be able to freely walk around in a Bikini? I don't think so. You are a guest of the state, and you aide by their rules. I feel sorry for the Women that are being forced to wear it, and that is why i support the ban.

I have just been asked to wear the above as a headscarf. o.O
Anyway:
Do you guys think its necessary to wear a headscarf in the western world? Where things like guys seeing your hair doesn't really provoke lots of 'indecenet' thoughts etc.?
If you ask anyone why girls wear a headscarf: the common answer you get is that so men don't judge you from appearance etc etc...... but what other reasons are there?
Well yes! A headscarf, after a girl 'time' passes and she becomes a 'woman' she has to wear a headscarf. A headscarf is to symbolises your religion, and that you are obedient to God NOT men.
People get the face - veil and headscarf mixed up.
THIS IS THE HEADSCARF:

AND THIS IS THE FACE - VEIL

Re: Islam is not the problem. Muslims are.
How is the face - veil connected to Islam, when the face - veil predates Islam?

if they don't wear it to protect themselves from men, then whats the point of the veil? :S
or am i misunderstanding
Are you seriously telling me that's the only reason you think there is to wear the veil? To shield the pretty women from the mean dirty men?
What about the other things? Symbolism, ahadith, love for God, life is a test etc?
They all come second [apparently] 😛 anyways..What OTHER people don't seem to understand rawr is that the face - veil pre-dates Islam. Women were already wearing them. It has nothing to do with Islam, and something that was adopted by Muslims. Some people say "Oh! The wives of the Prophet use to wear it?!" Well obvs..It was part of their culture? It's how they dressed?
Bombers don't go around killing people everyday over here.
Like i said, alcohol does more damage.
I'm surprised that as a Muslim you can't see the postive side of wearing the veil - what chance have we got of proving to non- Muslims that wearing a piece of cloth on ur face does not make you dangerous? :/
What a daft response. I would like to go on the train or the bus without the fear that it will be blown up by Muslim Extremists. That bomb does not give mercy to anyone. Babies, old people, Muslim, non - muslim. Everyone and anyone is murdered.

Please can you stop showing people images of the veil and the Hijab, I find it really patronising- we know what you're talking about and if not, are perfectly capable of searching on our own.
and ALSO there's no point repeating yourself again and again. Even if you say the same thing with different words it's the same thing.
But tbh idc what your reason is. I'm not going to try to explain why the veil is or isn't compulsory because i don't know enough either way. All i know is, i hate the idea that people are being told they CAN'T wear something they want to for Allah by anyone. If they're wrong, they're wrong but that's up to them and if you want to give friendly advice you can and should, but frankly it's not very Muslim to barge around telling people their traditions are corrupt in a not very nice way.

Re: Islam is not the problem. Muslims are.
well i'll be honest with you; i haven't really read this post in ages, so what i am replying back to is the faceveil bit.
so how is someone [regardless of whether they are muslim or not] wearing a faceveil, NOT threatening?

wait a minute i asked you the same question so please answer instead of asking me the same question back ?
Re: Islam is not the problem. Muslims are.
that was my answer.. it was a rhetoric.
if you can't see someone's face, then it is threatening. you don't know who or what is underneath that face. A person's facial expressions can give a lot away about their motives.
Re: Islam is not the problem. Muslims are.
its got nothing to do with facial expressions iv been told my looks could kill cause i give some mmeeeaan dirtys but that dont actually mean im actually gona do u get me? ur not making any sense so just leave the pwomaen who wear the veil in peace man u needa chill out like for real!

What's threatening about the faceveil? Obviously if you see a guy wearing a balaclava then you'd be threatened, but it's just a woman doing something to please Allah, what's so threatening about it?

So why aren't you threatened by me? You can't see my facial expression and don't know what I look like...? lol
As if all veiled women are crazy terrorists or something

I remember a case when 2 MEN dressed in Burqa’s with full face veil robbed a jewellery shop
Sorry for not even attempting to read the past five pages.
Welcome Rakibm.
You live in England. Not in the lands of Arabia, so you DON'T wear the veil which is part of another countries Culture.
Wearing the veil is a religious observance. Maybe it's not a compulsory one, but some women choose to do it.
If you are saying that women must not wear the veil in England, then the onus is on you to explain why they should not be permitted to fulfil that particular religious observance if they so choose.
