Isn't wearing makeup haram?

This is going onto another topic which i don't really want to do cause it may annoy people.

To answer your question though what more can be done in grooming apart from just making yourself look presentable (for men that is)? What kinda makeup would men wear?

Don't get me wrong i'm all for looking good, i always make an effort 😉

People with white hair were encouraged to colour it.

Surma for the eyes, and its not JUST because it had health properties.

At the conquest of Makkah, the prophet ﷺ had his hair in 3 plaids.

I think there is a hadith on the line of "God is beautiful and likes beautiful things".

Clearly some people feel different shades work better in different times of the year. And that is based on 'advice' from what the company/mags/models/'specialists' etc show and say looks better and is 'in'/ 'fashionable'

Therefore Foysol's comment is not baseless.

So what if it was baseless, like I said, you could've challenged him less harshly.

And if you look at the make up it is exactly the same other than the floral box/packaging for summer.

Cos I dont normally wear it unless at weddings, which is like twice a year? Well maybe not strange, but uncomfortable to wear in the house and I wouldnt wanna feel uncomfortable in my own home. Actually, no I do find it weird, the way Im imagining it in my head...

not talking about this guy in particular but generally men and women should know about the issues concerning the other so they can teach their wife/husband/siblings/children etc, I think.

Also I don't think you have to really stare to notice the make up, sometimes (or generally) it just noticeable.

My issue with make up is - the lack of it.

For some bizzare reason, whenever I bump into my friends from my school days I'm amazed at how much they have let themselves go. I'm not implying that people should still look like the thin size 8, pretty girls they used to look like when they were in school...I understand it can be hard after kids etc

But when you're married dont you know have a reason to make even more of an effort? dont you now have someone to impress? the girls who used to make so much effort before marriage, make zero effort after marriage.

im not suggesting that people were it out of the house. but the whole point of make up is to enhance. use it. when applied properly it can even out your complexion and make your eyes appear bigger, brighter etc etc

there's this thing ive seen with muslim women (esp the ones in the west) they stop making the effort when they get married or when they become practsing. or both. why?

In this side of the world, the Arab women are the ones who are covered from head to toe and even have their faces covered...but underneath their abayah they are groomed from head to toe.

IMO its important to make the most of what you have.
