WHY SHOULD WE WORRY FOR. WERE MUSLIMS, WE DON'T EVEN EAT PORK?
*dirol*''Biggy'*dirol*
erm... its being passed from human to human. No need to worry about coming into contact with swine. just with another human being. or not even that - the virus may also be airborn. I wonder if insects can carry it? Some types of flu are transmitted through the likes of mosquitos too.

Swine flu cases confirmed in UK
OK then. How does this effect us cos, as Muslims, we don't go around snogging strangers?!
Don't just do something! Stand there.
You don't?!?
EDIT - if any of you get a kick out of worldwide disaster crisis map thingies, you may want to have a look at this and this. The first especially is a daily map of panic. DId you know that there is an orange alert for Jabel al-Tair in Yemen - it is erupting? Well, you do now!

are you all scared?
Salam
It has now come clear that pigs did not have anything to do with the deadly virus.
Yet media was fed false reports to scare the public.
The swines had blamed the pigs for nothing.
Its whole story is hogwash.
One top scientist Dr. Bernard Vallat says the avian strain is of American origin, and of the two swine strains, one is American origin and the other appears to be Asian. The human strain is American. There is no proof that this virus, currently circulating among humans, really is of animal origin. There is no element to support this.
Falsely blaming and finger pointing is not a new game.
It is even wrong to call it swine flu.
It has bird, pig, and human components. Yet they single out the hog.
It seems that the virus is all one big conspiracy.
But who is to benefit from all this. Who will make their billions.
The virus is still a mystery 6 weeks after the first outbreak.

Omrow
Three updates on this:
1. Virus is 'a mild strain'
2. Swine flu spread 'not sustained'
3. Swine flu pandemic 'has started'
Essentially the first two are saying "Don't panic, things are fine", while the third says "Doomed, we are all DOOOOMEDDDD!!!", or rather that we would be if we were not in the summer months.

ok, here's the twist - Humans infecting swine with swine flu. Who'd ave thunk it?
Alberta pigs likely infected with flu from worker: CFIA official
its all circular.

This is really nothing to worry about. Not yet anyway.
Remember SARS from around 5 years ago? No? Exactly.
800 people died from SARS. When the Swine Flu death toll goes over 800 that's when we can start paying attention.
Important point to note is that 4000-5000 people die in the UK every year from normal seasonal flu.
So far about 20 people worldwide have been confirmed as having died from Swine Flu. No matter how many die they will only be 1% of people who actually get infected. 99% of infectees will recover.
Go home. Nothing to see here.
(Not yet)
Ofcourse I remember SARS! Not what it was or how much of a hoohaa was made of it.
As for swine flu, seems we are in the clear for now. not is the current strain is not that deadly, but also we are not seeing anything like an exponential growth curve in new cases.

(I wonder if the author realised that the word khanzeer/khinzeer means "pig"? The naming is as creative as naming a dog "dog". Mind, its descriptive and I like such naming. if there comes along a bigger dog, you name it "bigger dog"...)

Some said that America would have a black president when pigs fly. Sure enough, 100 days later swine flu.

Gentleness and kindness were never a part of anything except that it made it beautiful, and harshness was never a part of anything except that it made it ugly.
Through cheating, stealing, and lying, one may get required results but finally one becomes
Nope - not at all.
People never expected a black president in America - even last year there were many questions over if it could happen.

If he's the only pig in the country, it's no wonder they just call him "pig".
Ah! So that's what 'khinzeer' means.
Heard that quite a bit from pakistani parents.
But about the story... I'm really really surprised that Afghanistan even has a pig in their zoo! Wow. I had not expected that. I wonder how it's treated... Surely if you're going to keep it then you should care for it really well...
And I wonder who cares for it... Hopefully not somebody who is then treated like rubbish by fellow workers... you do wonder...
And this too is quite funny.
A doctor on the news today was again saying how really it was nothing at all to be worried about. He went on to say that the a while back when all the stuff about bird flu kicked off, the same level of risk that applied then still does now today. Only the papers got bored of it and moved on to other stuff. And he predicts the same thing will surely happen with swine flu.

Conspiracy people on the internet are saying that Swine Flu was created
by government for population control, and to sell millions of drugs to all countries.
Poor pigs got blamed for nothing.
conspiracy nuts are plain... nuts.
Does anything happen in this world without there being some man behind the curtain pulling the strings?
A funny think about population figures is that overpopulation has always been a worry for some people - even back when there were less than a billion people on the planet, some worried about there being too many.
I see it as a false fear.

Why not?
One lived a long and probably fruitful life. Had plenty of time to get things done. The other never had the chance.
