That was not a dua, ubt an acknowledgement that we are from God and to Him we will return.

As for actual dua, praying for their forgiveness etc, it is only for Muslims that you cna do that.

Swine flu 'cannot be contained'

The rising numbers of swine flu cases mean trying to contain the virus is no longer an option, the government says.

Ministers said the emergency response would now move to a new "treatment" phase across the UK as there may soon be 100,000 new cases a day.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

On a more serious note, there doesn't seem to be much info on how people can alter their diet to build up resistance to swine flu.

I wonder if hot lemon water works in this situation.

Yeah i don't really think its a big deal, i personally know and have contact with at least 2 people who had swine flu and are now fine. My school didn't close even though there have been at least 3 confirmed cases cuz they thought "there was no point as it cant be contained and its mild" even though every other school closed :roll: :X

I think these "underlying health problems"( :roll: ) probably made them worse and are actually what caused the deaths of those 3 people who have died so far.

i don't think u can build resistance to it in any different way than from "normal" flu.

No idea - but I think the normal flue is actually more dangerous than swine flu atm - and it also kills half a million people a year.

I would say this is not something worth worrying about - especially if it cannot be prevented.

The gov says that from August 100,000 people a day could contract swine flu.

But this number will include all people with flu-like symptoms. This is because tests will no longer be carried out to determine if people have swine flu or normal flu.

Even if you just get a bit of a sniffle you will officially be counted as someone with swine flu.

Swine flu victim dies

The first person without underlying health problems has died after contracting swine flu.

The patient died at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Essex, NHS East of England said.

The patient's family has asked that no details of their relative be released.

In a statement the trust said it 'would like to extend their deepest sympathies to the family affected as they come to terms with their loss'.

On Thursday, the Government said 14 people had died in the UK after contracting the virus.

Chief Medical Officer Sir Liam Donaldson said the figure did not mean they all died as a direct result of swine flu but that they had the virus.

He added that there were 335 people in hospital in England with swine flu of which 43 were in critical care.

While swine flu was bad, one of the things that you could comfort yourself with was by admitting that atleast it was only the flu - it could be much worse. Like swine Ebola.

How bad would that have been? Well, we may find out soon enough. Or not. Probably not.

Relatively speaking, quite a big jump in deaths:

UK swine flu deaths jump to 29

wenty-nine people have now died in the UK after contracting swine flu, up from 17 on Monday, the government has said.

It comes as the number of new cases hit 55,000 last week and the NHS has seen a surge in calls and consultations.

Ministers in England have responded by promising the National Flu Service will go live at the end of next week to relieve pressure on hospitals and GPs.

The government has also warned that deaths from swine flu this winter could be between 19,000 and 65,000 in the UK.

Experts said it was impossible to predict exactly, but with a third of the population perhaps becoming infected in the coming months the death toll could rise to such numbers.

A 39-year-old woman gave birth shortly before dying with swine flu, the BBC understands.

The mother died in London's Whipps Cross Hospital on 13 July. Her baby is said to be very ill in intensive care.

Meanwhile, a baby under six months old, who died in another London hospital, is also among the latest victims of swine flu in the UK.

Both are thought to have had underlying health conditions and were among the 29 deaths announced on Thursday.

There has been a surge of infections recently with an estimated 55,000 cases in the past week alone.

Doctors have criticised the government for not doing enough to reassure people...

Airborne rabbis fight off swine flu

A group of rabbis and Jewish mystics have taken to the skies over Israel, praying and blowing ceremonial trumpets to ward off swine flu.

About 50 religious leaders circled over the country on Monday, chanting prayers and blowing the horns called "shofars".

The flight's aim was "to stop the pandemic so people will stop dying from it," Rabbi Yitzhak Batzri was quoted as saying in Yedioth Aharanot newspaper.

The flu is often referred to as H1N1 in Israel, where pigs are seen as unclean.

I read a few words and the bit I managed to skim said there was a scare over swine flu in the 70's and it never materialised, but the vaccine of the time managed to kill some people.

However since there HAVE been hundreds of thousands of people infected this time around, the article was more or less wrong (and it was also from april)

Bad news - this trend of fewer infections seems to be lagging slightly behind the summer holidays at schools. (well, swine flu needs about 10 days before it starts to show, and the decline in new cases was approximately a couple of weeks after the holidays started)

Summer holidays do come to an end 6 weeks after they start.

the other day i was watching live taraweeh and i saw 2 guys wearing face masks. i guess it was so they dont catch swine flu...or anything else.

Fears swine flu 'on the way back'

Swine flu looks to be on its way back, according to Sir Liam Donaldson, England's chief medical officer.

Figures showed that there were an estimated 5,000 new cases in England last week - up from 3,000.

It is the first increase since the end of July, but the levels are still below what would be expected in a bad winter.
