I think there should be a rule, where you have to say why?

No its not. Asking me to pray for you is using up my valuable prayer time, where i could be using it to pray for other more important things like... stickers, gummy bears and Jelly Beans. So if im gonna pray for someone else I think i have a right to know why, and wat they want.

If duas are private why are you guys asking other people to pray for you??
Think about it.

Noooooo, I don't think so Seraph.
I think making time to remember others in your dua says a lot about you as a Muslim.
I'm sure you'd like others to remember you in their duas...
For myself, praying for others is quite a fundamental part of my dua. When I was young I remember my Mum saying that when you pray for something for yourself, also ask for the same for others. And that to me makes sense... Why is Allah swt going to just grant you something, the way forward is as a strong Ummah.

Yeah but thats not what we're talking about. Ofcourse i mention in my prayers for Allah (swt) to have mercy on the Ummah etc etc which is totally different to when someone asks you directly to pray for them... its like 'why?' are my regular prayers not good enough for you? You need a special mention? If thats the case then can you be more specific so i know what im asking god for. Im not a mind reader... although that would be fun.
(Note to self: Ask Allah (swt) for mind-reading powers).

If you want people to pray for you then say what is it you want them to pray. If you dont want ppl knowing then dont ask ppl to pray, pray for yourself. Its as simple as that!
