Mum has always led the dua in my house - even if my uncles/dad/grandad etc is present.

cos - she (IMO) is the most pious one out of them all. She also does the best duas and the rest usually dont want to do it.

It shouldnt be a gender thing though cos dua is different to leading Salah.

A woman cant lead Salah to a group of men.

This isnt the case for dua.

However, if non-mahram are present than thats a different issue altogether cos pardah issues arise.

the thing is i reckon it matter on situation because you can have a very noble and pious women then you have a man whos a drug dealer allah(swt) forbid in the same home who does the dua?

Eid mubarak esp the Oldhamers that i have offended with my comments. No hard feelings.

gona get dressed up and do nothing for eid except spend tym with teh family....which i did only yesterday....and few days before...and at least once a week 😃

cousin has attempted to spice this eid up with Secret Eiddy (like secrent santa)

pick a name out of a hat, and you have to buy that person a gift....but its a secret who. everyone gets a gift like that, and element of surprise and fun

only thing is....i havnt got the secret person anything for 2mrw :oops:

tutut, that aint very clever of ya is it? just run to the shops and get some chocolate, you can't go wrong!

anyhoo, chaand raat went really well, raised 300 quid from basic food and mehdi so that was good. gave eid cards and prezzies 2 frends 2day, gona dish them out to the family tomorrow when the gang comes ova.

and somat inventive, funny, nice not boring like chocs!

how about getting some ittar, a tasbeeh or a cd? oh, all islamic shops gona be closed tomorrow. erm, you'll have to go to the nearest shopping centre and find something.

It was a normal day.

Was supposed to wake up and go to the first eid jammah so I could have time to go to uni but I switched my alarm clock off and went back to bed and only woke up when I heard my mum shouting.

Went to the last eid jammah, didn't meet many friends, cousins. Went to Jummah prayer, treated everyone with mums money 😛 and played video games for most of the day, and did some reading. That's about it.

Let me know how your eid goes.... you didn't hire any car did you? I think most mosques where I live received a letter from the (met) police regarding people driving dangerously and speeding on eid.

i got a few Eid texts this year, but i got one which made me EXTRA happy:

"May Allah shine his blessings and shower upon u and ur family his mercy. Eid Mubarak! Happy Eid and love from mum"

(i'm not gonna tell her you should put capital letters when you write 'His' )

PS I've had a really good day today too, alhamdulillah. Nothing amazingly great just nice.
