Namaaz

Hi everyone...

i must say it's been a while since i've been here...but my life felt incomplete without it...!

anyhow i've come up with a problem n was wondering if anyone can offer any advice

i've recently started doing the Fajr namaaz every morning and im going to try and keep it as a regular thing as a really want to be a better muslim

however, there's a really big problem i've been experiencing whilst doing namaaz...everytime i do it, my minds not there if you no what a mean

i can read the whole namaaz without actually hearing it or realising what im saying Sad

Adoption Is Haraam?

i recently heard this and cant believe it might actually be true :shock:

apparently it is haraam in islam to adopt a child and give them your 'name', when they are not actually your child (i have heard only fostering a child is allowed)

is this true???

i really hope its not, i had big plans for the future with me and my adopted kids Biggrin

Eid Party Cancelled due to Racism

I recently tried to organise an Eid Party at college as many Asian students complained that every year we have a Christmas party but we never do anything for Eid

The senior members of the college said the party was a good idea as it would be open to everyone and it would encourage others to experience a different culture

however, the student council (all white) and our student liason officer cancelled the party for reasons such as:

Asians cause fights and riots (there is alcohol at the xmas party yet this isnt a problem 4 them, y r asians ne different?)
