A day late this is. Yesterday the Con Dem alliance released a longer 31 page manifesto type thing and generally I am in favour of quite a bit of it.
The civil liberties changes proposed such as scrapping ID cards, cutting back on a few other things, reviewing/repealing parts of the anti terrorism legislation etc are all good (especially since it seems to discriminate against Muslims).
The bad bits are the europe and foriegn affairs bits - pulling out of the world is not a good or wanted thing in my eyes. It is short term stupidity and may have lasting consequences.
I would love some of the civil liberties things to go through early though - before either the coalition collapses or the powers that be change their mind after getting addicted to power.
(on the other hand there have been sources that suggest the document is full of pie in the sky "hope" and less focussed on fact.)
I am surprised that plans to cut defence spending by 25% are not getting greater scrutiny since in the election campaign they were arguing that the armed forces were not getting enough money... but that's politics eh?
