General Elections 2010

I am liking the Con Dem agenda for change...

A day late this is. Yesterday the Con Dem alliance released a longer 31 page manifesto type thing and generally I am in favour of quite a bit of it.

The civil liberties changes proposed such as scrapping ID cards, cutting back on a few other things, reviewing/repealing parts of the anti terrorism legislation etc are all good (especially since it seems to discriminate against Muslims).

The bad bits are the europe and foriegn affairs bits - pulling out of the world is not a good or wanted thing in my eyes. It is short term stupidity and may have lasting consequences.

I would love some of the civil liberties things to go through early though - before either the coalition collapses or the powers that be change their mind after getting addicted to power.

What can the Con Dem alliance do for you?

Well, ladies and Gentlemen, we are ina new era. One where we have a coalition government. and the sky is faaling. Faaaalling.

But thinking back a bit, I remember thinking that the outcome of the elections would not be all that bad no matter who won.

So lets see what the Con Dem alliance can do for us, the citizens.

  1. Repeal plans for compulsory ID cards.
  2. Repeal the Digital Economy Bill.
  3. During the process of neutering the BBC and Ofcom that the conservatives probably promised to Monseur Murdoch, it could turn it into a fighting force - a fighting force that requires less of a tv licence fee.

Adam Boulton loses it with Alastair Campbell

Quite cool really.

The Conservatives were rattled today by the future resignation of Gordon Brown and the mouthpiece of Rupert Murdoch - a major backer of the Conservatives starts to lose it.

If the Conservtives get in and dismantle the BBC and Ofcom like Murdoch would like, eventually Sky News coluld turn into Fox News. Are we seeing the first step of that now?

EDIT - replaced by a better quality link.

The Tories are not evil

Well, they might be, who knows.

But one thing I did spot that could be good for Muslims (along with the idea that family is important, which I also agree with) was their pledge on schools.

People in a community can get together and get the government to pay for the formation of new schools.

now, this can be a good thing for Muslims whereif they feel existing schools are not catering to their needs, they can get together in areas with a significant Muslim population and get the government to make new schools that are more suited to their needs.

(I doubt they realised that Muslims could take advantage of this too)

Gordon Brown does a Barn storming speech, shows some enthusiam

But was it too little too late?

It is a real shame that Labout has not defended its record. The National Minimum Wage was a GREAT thing - something the Tories are not a fan of.

- shocking how this has been less reported.

To the people reading this, get out there and vote. Get your friends and families out there to vote too.

Phil Woolas gets desperate and racist in Oldham - Vote him out!

O people of Glodwick, Oldham, what will you do?

Since has managed to put the contents in a better way that I can manage, I will quote:

Phil Woolas the Islamophopic creep has even for him by distributing racist leaflets claiming Muslims want all teachers to wear the Niqab. The leaflets were naturally distributed in the predominately white areas of Oldham.

Phil Woolas is quaking in his Boots - time to kick him out.

People of Oldham East and Saddleworth - you can kick this nutbag out.

And he is worried. deeply worried - worried enough to claim that some bogus terrorist Islamist group is gunning for him and . I am pretty sure it is MPAC who have been campaigning in Glodwick against Woolas - not any islamist terrorist group, but just a bunch of people who feel they can make a difference.

He at the same time is putting a slur on his main rival of being supported by "Muslim/Saudi money".

Lets get Political

After the bombshell that , lets just see if I can summarise a few things.

Let me be upfront about something though - the issues I highlight below are issues I probably ignored when casting my vote. I could not overlook that the current incumbent voted for the Iraq war.

Past Record

While David Cameron keeps bleeting on about 13 years of Labour waste, he is simply wrong and relying on people to not remember things from what 1997 was like.

I voted tory

and so far I live to tell the tale.

I voted for the guy because well, he lives around the corner at the end of my street.

No idea what he stands for and he has no hope in hell if even winning, but my mum knows he mum etc etc and so I cast my vote.

(There was also the small matter of the current Labour MP for the area having voted for the Iraq war. I could not vote for him in good conscience.)

Besides, he has no chance in hell of winning, so its not really that it matters either.

Who have you voted for and why?
