MY RANT AGAINST METROSEXUALS

If u didnt know what a metrosexual man is-consider is a good thing

this prob means that u aint one

Metrosexuality is, according to British journalist Mark Simpson, the trait of an urban man of any sexual orientation (usually heterosexual)[citation needed] who has a strong aesthetic sense and spends a great amount of time and money on his appearance and lifestyle. Simpson coined the term in 1994 in an article in the The Independent... in general slang terms, they are "camp but straight."

gender differences shud never get clouded

men shud behave like men

and women shud behave like women

a man is NOT behaving like a man if he-spends hours on his appearance in front of the mirror

if every clothing that he wears is colour co-ordinated

if he blows most of his money on "looking good"

its GIRLS who usually take hours getting ready - after all - they have make up to apply, hair to style - outfit to colour co-ordinate - and sumtimes they aint happy with the end result so they go thru their entire wardrobe choosing sumin else to wear

but when MEN start to spemd just as long getting ready- it gets worrying

when i see a girl with a colour co-ordinated out fit i think - stylish

when i see a guy - i think gay

when i see a girl with nice eyebrows- i think neat

when i see a guy - i think gay

this doesnt mean to say that guys shud live in the same clothes and never look in the mirror or have a bath

thats just dirty and trampy

my point is-

leave the hours and hours spent getting ready to women

Woh woh woh... this aint my star wars thread...

lol, no. Thats the biggest pile of monkey cr@p ive heard since Bush said Iraq had WMD.

Just as womens grooming styles have evolved over the years, so has mens. We like to have nice looking clothes why because we live in a day and age where a man is judged on the clothes he wears or his profession requires him to dress in a certain way, we like to take regular baths why because its hygenic damn it. And some guys eyebrows are naturally like that and some are not.
I used to know a guy whose eyebrows were soo thick that both of them connected in the middle and it looked like he had a single line of hair going across his forehead.

A man is a man not by the quality of his clothes, the smell of his aftershave nor the way his hair is styled. A man is a man by the integrity of his character, the nobility of his actions and the strength of his heart.

Nothing wrong with looking clean and neat. A few years back I had a brief phase of looking not unlike a flaming queer, in fact I might count myself among the trendsetters, but now that look is soooooo 1990s, darling.

Still nothing wrong with looking clean and neat.

Still nothing wrong with looking clean and neat.

OK, its getting old.

guys read the above before u start going on the defensive

my only point was

leave the eyebrow shaping,

colour co ordinating

spending hours getting ready-

and hours on ur hair

to girls

i think men should coordinate their clothes. i wouldn't want my brothers or husband walking around with mismatched clothes, whats wrong with coordinating, nothing "feminine" about it, it's down to style and a bit of common sense in mixing colours surely?

As for eyebrows i dont think men or women should do them unless it looks really in need of taming down slightly. Particularly men, they should have thick bush eyebrows it's part of their masculinity. Rather girly to have thin eyebrows with a larger muscular body looks at odds to say the least. Having said that each to their own, if a man is spending time on his looks for his wifey what's wrong with that it's kind of sweet that he's making an effort.

As for women i remember when i was in secondary school and pencil thin eyebrows became all the rage. Before that natural bushy eyebrows was quite normal for women. That was until some fashion guru with too much time on their hands decided it would be a multi million beauty regime to get women to thin their eyebrows down. So all of a sudden if you're a girl and your eyebrows aren't pencil thin or low and behold there are a few stray hairs then you are deemed unattractive, and manish? Well i never joined the craze not immediately, and when i did i refused to go pencil thin. Today i have wised up, my eyebrows are not pencil thin, but they're not bushy either, they're just right as God gave me them Wink I ain't wasting my money and time plucking my eyebrows when i'm too busy plucking chickens for my next meal thanx. I don't need them thin to be deemed "pretty".

If my eyebrows were joined in the middle then yes i'd pluck but otherwise the tweezers and wax are in the bin.

I don't spend hours getting ready don't have that sort of luxury too many things to do. i spend most my days walking around in pjs and if i could pop out with them on i would lol. hey at least when i get done up i know i look good, as opposed to those girls who are done up 24/7. their hubbies don't even see them without makeup coz they're so insecure. I'm happy as i am i sound like your version of what a man should be lilsis...loooooooooooool

tis alright yash

girls can walk around in their PJ's all day

unlike boys

girls can do anything they want Dirol

but no-guys can NOT go out of their way to make sure their red shoes matches their red shirt

or their white jacket matches their white shoes

and they DEF CANT spend hours styling their hair-u know the type "dont touch-cos its all stiff on wax and whatever gunk is in it"

if they do have gorrila eyebrows then i suppose they can clean em up

lol@gorilla. One of my brothers is soooo hairy man i describe his arms as bushy carpets lol. At uni his mates once waxed strips onto his arms whilst he was asleep. When it was pulled off it spelt out hairy loooooool. In revenge he shaved off one of his mates eyebrows at night loooooool

Heres an idea why dont you just let the guys decide what the hell to wear and you can dress up your hubby however you want.

I have a question: why is it that women want to change men and/or get annoyed that men cant change, while men get annoyed that women do?

May Allah shine sweet faith upon you this day and times beyond. May your heart be enriched with peace, and may your home be blessed always. Ameen.

I can hazard a guess at the first part of your question... but it will be a guess as im not a girl so i will leave that out for now.
Second part... men dont get annoyed that women change... the truth is we just dont care enough... so she changes her hair style every so often... buys new shoes... so what? Who cares??

It's always been the norm for guys to take very little time in getting ready and for girls to take much longer.

Guys dont need to spend much time but if they want to that's their choice....however it gets worrying when guys wear makeup, pluck their eyebrows etc...matching things is fine as long as its to co-ordinate not match from head to toe....

I spend a lot of time getting ready which is why I am nearly late for work all the time

i like to see colour co ordinated men and women it just looks neater on anyone.

taking care even much care on clothing and hair just shows self respect - of course over doing it is no good for men or women

style is personal choice and taking care and time is ok for both men and women - metrosexuals are ok with me, course it can get a bit embarassing for women if their men are better dressed and groomed then they are Biggrin

They have men's best interests at heart - want to assist them in growing and improve the way they do things - thats a main reason why. We should always strive to improve ourselves, right?..
Women are more open to change, whereas men are not (?) Maybe thats why the ratio of male to female converts to islam is so big..?

From what i understand, men do get annoyed that women change - bc women thoughout their lives change, and strive to change - due to their circumstances, experiences, people, family, etc.. i mean character/personality change, in addition to the external physical/superficial - whilst men dont, am i right?
Long term, rather than short term change.

All this metrosexuality going on is making men imitate the opposite sex more and more - i wouldnt be surprised if in 10-20 years down the line, its considered the 'norm' for men to wear just as much make-up, and take just as long as women do.. this imitation is a sign of qiyamah - we should be careful where we draw the line.. ahadith tell us that this ummah will imitate other nations, and thats what we seem to be leading towards.. A natural consequence of imitating the opposite sex is homosexuality..

Men should be men and women should be women - Andy-Pandy/Rainbow Brite men are off-putting in the same way as Jonny Bravo/Rocky women.. the prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) cursed men who imitate women and those women who imitate men

May Allah shine sweet faith upon you this day and times beyond. May your heart be enriched with peace, and may your home be blessed always. Ameen.

If a man does wear make-up and take their time getting ready it doesn't necessarily mean that they are trying to imitate the opposite sex, maybe they just wanna look good.....and you were saying men don't change Blum 3

i aint trying to CHANGE anyone

guys can walk around in skirts and high heels and i wouldnt try to change them

if they wanna look that freaks then thats their perogative

DID I SAY ANYWHERE IN MY POST-DONT WEAR THIS OR DONT WEAR THAT?

i am however entitled to my opinion - guys who spend more time in front of the mirror and longer then girls on their appearance are weirdos

Im all for keeping fit and looking good - believe me! - be they male or female - both sexes should look after themselves and make an effort to dress and look good, be of pleasant appearance, yada yada yada.. theres a hadith that says that Allah (swt) loves to see the signs His gifts on His servants Wink but a line needs to be drawn.. otherwise we'll open ourselves up to a fall.. like i said before, a natural consequence of (men) imitating the opposite sex is homosexuality and/or other similar traits..
Also personally, i would start to wonder just WHO the woman is in my marriage/relationship if my husband (or insert-other-male-here) wore JUST as much make-up as i did, and took just as much time as i did in getting ready! i dont want [url= to happen in 10-20 years time, thats all :?
