i'm reli confused at the moment in which two of the A levels sociology or psychology to pick
iv'e had a feel of teh two bt i still canot make my mind up
just wondering what u guys thought is better of the two which one of teh subjects is more intresting and worth while studying?

if u could simply just write down teh subject u think is worth while stuyding? 
Do what you want to do, its going to be you sitting them examz not us.
Pick the subject which you like best or make a list wid the pros and cons of each subject and see which 1 has the most pros and stick with that.

I've done both, comparing both I would say psychology is more better if you are looking to go into the field of counselling. As for sociolgy its more to do with a career in health service/private and public sectors.
Psychology is about how people'e minds work/the thinkin process/why people behave the way they do.
Sociology is more to do with what enviromental factors have on behaviour, i.e. why criminals behave the way they do....
There is quite a similarity in both subject, one is to do with the person and the other what is around the person, personally I opted for sociology because it will be more helpful in social work but do what you think is best and what you think u will enjoy most.
i whated to become a psychiatrist but apparently it about a 6 yrs degrees nt sure tho i end up killing myself if its .
my family keep laughign at me when i say to them i wat to become a psychiatrist

I've done Psychology AS and no Sociology.
Psychology is interesting. If you can read studies and learn names and findings off by heart, you should get a good grade in psychology.
From friends who did sociology, it seems boring with a few interesting bits here and there.
Gentleness and kindness were never a part of anything except that it made it beautiful, and harshness was never a part of anything except that it made it ugly.
Through cheating, stealing, and lying, one may get required results but finally one becomes
lol spot on! I enjoyed the subject in regards to crime and about gender, also press and broadcasting was interestin but the lecturer made it seem like such a bore! Overal it's a good subject if you pick the right modules.

You should have seen my psychology tutor, once when I came into the class with my hands hand cuffed behind my back, he didn't say anything as I spent 5 minutes writhing on the floor getting out of them.
I think i've already said on here how my friend managed to convinve him i was bullemic.

I've also done both subjects....last year. And if you wanna be a psychiatrist then you should choose psychology.
Sociology is abit dull compared to psychology, the only part of the course in sociology I found interesting was crime and deviance, which you do in your second year (A2), but there's alot of theories you gotta memorise.
For sociology we went to a prison and an ex inmate came to our college, don't know if you're gonna do that.
For psychology we were planning to go to freud museum, I was so looking forward to it but some stupid people in our class had to ruin it for the rest of us :evil:

yep. I pretty much agree with all that.
If you want to be a shrink then you def need to take psych (it shouldnt matter what people think or want from you but what you want for yourself.) 6 Years in academic studies is not a long time really. It will go by pretty quick.
In the end it is you who will be sitting the exams, not you're parents. It will be you're lifes work so you may aswell do something worthwile and some thing you wanna do rather than something someone else wants you to do.
And if it makes you feel better theres really no such thing as normal... we all need our heads checking but the result would be the same... except maybe in the cases of wacko's.

as for psychology it doesnt fit my timetablee i cnt belive it . but i can still pick it up if i drop one of my others
i doing 4 A levels genral studies , business studies betac wich is wrth 2 A levels ands well currently in sociology which is extreamly boringgg bt apparently gets intresting after a few weeks .
the teacher i have fr sociology is too safe thats teh promblem like today i was out to collect a book i took about half hour as i met a friend on my travells he didnt mind at all wen i returned he just smile
andhis teaching is well i give it about a 4 out of 10 but teh only gd thing about him is u can go up to him about 100 times and he still wnt mind as other teacher hate it wen u keep cuming up to them.
. and i have him fr about half my lessons fr business and in business he practically dictates evrything i need to write in my crswrk and keeps reasuring me that i dng gd in pickign sociology the right subject.
second week into 6 form and i am even more confused then teh 1st week

genie stick wth sociology see hw it goes and if u do find it very boring drop it after a few weeks altho i dnt know might be too late to pick another one up . as fr later on in university ur options will be much more open and this subject also lets u into a wider field as wer psychology

lol isit the same teacher who everyone bullies? The teacher and the way he/she teaches makes a big diff if you think ur gna end up fallin asleep in the lessons then id talk to the teach, you shud be lucky youve got a teach you can go up to a zillion times my eng teach was soo mardy evertime i asked him a question he nearly bit my head off. nearly made me wana drop english. in the end i skipped most lessons but sumhow fluked and passed
