Salaam
Was just wondering if anybody knows the answer to my question.
Can you read dua without performing wudhu if you reciting from your head or a piece of paper with dua written in english? Also, is it permissible to read upon rosary beads (tasbee) without performing wudhu?
Jazak Allah Khair :?:

dua is basically asking from Allah swt, it'd probz be better of to do with wudhu, but you can make dua any time of the day or night, long ones or short ones, special ones or standard ones.......so no, i wouldnt think so ALL the time......but thats why they say its best to try stayin in wudhu all the tym

Okay this is what Shaykh Ramzan Al Qadri has said (don't know if its general or specific to Hanafee fiqh):
1./ kafir can touch the Holy Quran without wudu or ghusl because the command of having Wudu when touching it is for the believers and obviously they ain't.
2./ You can recite Quran without directly touching a Quran if you don't have wudu but mustn't touch and arabic ayat if you don't have wudu(whether in the Quran or a book quoting from it).
3./ You cannot recite Quran if you don't have ghusl but you can read Tasbeeh
from these points I would conclude its okay to do dua if you don't have Wudu but respect for Allah SWT Qalaam goes a long way.
