THE NIGHTS OF EID
Rasulullâh Sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam said: “The heart of the person who remains awake (in ibâdah) during the night of Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adhâ will not die on the Day when hearts will be dead, i.e. the Day of Qiyâmah.” (Tibrani)
The nights of both Eids, i.e. the nights preceding the Days of Eid, are auspicious occassions which should be observed with reverence and worship. Rasulullâh Sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam said that these nights are great occasions of ibâdah and of gaining the proximity and special Mercy of Allâh Ta’âla. These blessed nights, should therefore not be allowed to pass by in idleness. Full advantage should be taken of these opportunities by offering obedience and ibâdah unto Allâh Ta’âla to the best of our abilities. Istighfâr [seeking forgiveness for sins], Tilâwah [reciting the Qur’ân], Nafl Salâh, Durûd, etc. should be profusely offered on these blessed nights.
Among the rewards which will be obtained as a result of observing the sanctity of these glorious Eid Nights, the greatest reward is the tidings conveyed to us by Rasulullâh Sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam in the abovementioned Hadîth, viz., the heart will not be smitten with terror and fear on the Day of Qiyâmah when the upheavals of that Day will be so fearsome that men will appear to be intoxicated

mashaALLAH, Muhtarama has started posting some VERY good posts. May ALLAH Rabbul Izzat accept them ameen.
just a point that has already been mentioned. The night of eid is the night PRECEDING the day of eid, this is because the Islamic 'day' begins at maghrib time, hence taraweeh is read the night preceding the first fast.

starcity? whats that?
im a northener
Star City...
A massive cinema hall in B'ham with lots of other shops..bowling, Nando's etc
sounds like a place worth checking out
itz time we tried something different on Eid
i dont suppose anyone knows anywhere we can hire out a car for the day?
most places require you to be at least 21 (bit of a problem as none of us are)
but there must be some places which make exceptions?
salma when you find one tell me im having the same problem in renting a car they want you to be over 25 with experience
its so unfair

u mean u done it all before
Aint that the truth.
It just doesnt hav the same appeal after the first couple of times.
Ive never hired a car out for Eid... dont see the point.
I've only ever hired one out when our car broke down once and we were going up north to Scotland the day after soo we hired out.
Actually thats not true, i also hired out a limo for my cousin bro's wedding.
Back in BLACK
na we dont do none of that nonesense
the whole point of a car is to get us there and back in one piece
hate getting on the buses, they never turn up, especially when its cold, raining and dark (yes talkin of past experience)
so u need a limo to get you there and back?
or a prestigous car?
hmmmmmmmm
btw LilSis.......... i cant drive, how am i gona hire a car!
