*Video removed due to censorship and general intolerance for stuff that is not entirely compliant with particular beliefs. Says a lot about the state of the world. Should probably think twice when some of you complain that the rest of the world is intolerant of you.
But yeah, I'll stick to putting up pictures of unicorns praying on rainbows
If anyone's interested it was a video off youtube of Somalian girls in full muslim dress dancing with men. And contrary to the comments there was no 'semi naked'ness, that was the entire point of uploading it, seeing how little it means to some people because it has kind of become so much of an obligation or culture to most.
Laters.

that's just seriously messed up, but doesn't really come as surprise to me. i see too many sisters hanging around non-mahram men thinking its okay because they practice hijab somewhat.
is this the state of muslims now?
May Allah guide us all Ameen

Wtf....wats the funny part lol
But seriously thts messd up
Um, Take some responsibility for your actions.
I didn't 'make' you watch anything. The title and screenshot of the video make the content quite clear and you CHOSE to not just look at that but watch it. So shut up about 'make' you ¬_¬
#Before you look at the thorns of the rose , look at it's beauty. Before you complain about the heat of the sun , enjoy it's light. Before you complain about the blackness of the night, think of it's peace and quiet... #
Why did you put it up? Are you Mossad?
It's pornographic....
I think you should remove the link.
I thought it was interesting. Nobody has to look.
#Before you look at the thorns of the rose , look at it's beauty. Before you complain about the heat of the sun , enjoy it's light. Before you complain about the blackness of the night, think of it's peace and quiet... #
I think anyone who doesnt want to look is free not to.
People arent always going to like what they see. It's called growing up a bit.
Its not like it's completely irrelevant.
#Before you look at the thorns of the rose , look at it's beauty. Before you complain about the heat of the sun , enjoy it's light. Before you complain about the blackness of the night, think of it's peace and quiet... #
So it is ok to post pictures up of semi-naked men and women?
And whoever doesn't want to look doesn't have to and that makes it all right?
This is an Islamic website and that video clip is anything but Islamic. It's not called growing up, it's called hayaa.
Who is Semi naked?! The whole point of uploading the video is the fact that the girls are wearing Muslim dress.
Yeah it does actually make it alright because it's a video, no one has to click play. To people who are not as easily offended it's a topic of discussion, whether or not they watch the entire thing or any of it. People aren't always going to see things they love to see and because the people in the video are muslims and wearing muslim attire, it's applicable to Muslims. Kicking off at every little bit of slight controversy is pretty childish.
Yeah this is an Islamic website, for the Muslim YOUTH, its the youth in the video and it obviously wouldnt be appropriate on a site for mature Muslims but young people should know what young people do and whats right and wrong.
Pictures and videos of hurt and tortured children in Muslim country arent easy on the eye either but people need to know what's happening.

Calm down, i didnt literally mean you made me watch this video. I didnt find it offensive that you put it up either, its just something people say when they watch something they didnt really want to see but just find out what it was.
If you look below those comments i made some contributions to the discussion, just dont know what else to say when seeing something like this. We are all here to please Allah so there is no need to offend one another. Forgive me if i have said anything to offend you.
P.S. Didnt see the screenshot
May Allah guide us all, Ameen

My bad  Sorry.
I can see why it would be offensive, but thats the whole point. We can't babify ourselves all the time, there is this thing called the real world. Like fair enough we don't want to see things, but the usual practice is that we don't look, we don't tell the rest of the world to mould around us and it's usually when Muslims do that that the rest of the world dislike Islam and think it's all bossy and bad and we all have superiority complexes, and we don't. Not all.
Yeah I did see what you said, I thought the same thing. When I first watched it I was really confused as to why they didn't just take off their hijab? :S obviously that wouldnt have made it alright but it would be a lot less strange i think. I think it shows how diluted the importance of Muslim dress has become, and a lot of girls clearly just do it as a formality rather than because they feel it, if you know what I mean.
#Before you look at the thorns of the rose , look at it's beauty. Before you complain about the heat of the sun , enjoy it's light. Before you complain about the blackness of the night, think of it's peace and quiet... #
How about this is what happens when jihadis take your tribal lands and Islam is the only alternative to letting your family be killed?
@ MakeMeRawr
All is forgiven
just thought i would point out that the discussions could have went this way along time ago. if it wasn't for someone's misunderstanding
in all seriousness though i think you have brought up an important topic and one that needs to be addressed. As i am not one of those people who indulges in freemixing, i am not aware of all the goings on within this group of Muslims.
How would we address these people? maybe if you know people who are involved within that group but also have the practicing side to them. we could possibly address them and work with them to get the message out to the wider audience.
Just a random idea though
Lets reunite the ummah under one flag LA ILAHA IL ALLAH MUHAMMADUR RASULULLAH
Or that kind of positive thinking, yeah.
Either way, they could take off those clothes and dance how they like?
I'm thinking the Taliban would care as much about the dirty dancing as they would about the modest dress so they couldn't have been that scared of them at that particular time.

would you care to elaborate?
Lets reunite the ummah under one flag LA ILAHA IL ALLAH MUHAMMADUR RASULULLAH
Lol when you say 'group' of Muslims what d'you mean? Cos i'm sure this isnt just a somalian thing. There were a lot of Asian Muslims in my college and (no offence to anyone) a lot of them got up to the same and much worse.
About addressing it, I have no idea :S I want to say educate them but how often does that work with hormonal teenagers. The other option is to let them ride it out and get bored and wait for them to grow up but that's obviously bad too. I really don't know, it's up to the parents to fix it usually but the parents wouldn't know it was happening.

Exactly!
And about the Asian thing- what, SERIOUSLY?! I didn't know transexuals 'performed' at Asian weddings?! Thats a bit random because a lot of Asia are Muslim, and weddings are pretty public :S Is that Only in Asia or..?

Civil war in Somalia is in its 3rd decade, and jihadi rebels control large portions of the country where they impose Shariah law. It is considered that they have committed a huge genocide. Clearly the girls in this picture are complying with the dress code but what they do when the jihadis are not looking is totally inconsistent. I think before judging how Islamic they are you might consider their situation.
:O I seriously had no idea.
I did hear of like strange Hermaphrodite routiney things that happen in Pakistan? Where some group of hermaphrodites like steal baby ones and bring them up and they like hassle people for money and stuff, and wear womens clothes even though they look like men. I don't know how true that is, but I was told it by Pakistani people.
Racist how?

yeah i didn't mean the somalians i meant the wide group of young muslims out there. lets not kid ourselves we all know we have muslims in our own communities who indulges in openly free mixing at the least.
the worst thing is that they act like hanging around the opposite sex is perfectly fine. either they don't know or they don't care. we see it happening everywhere but i really hate seeing this happening within the muslims.
i find it difficult to get my own friends and family to avoid hanging around with non mahrams. its even worse when you hang around with your friends and then you end up having to be around non mahrams because your with your friend. its happened with me too often, due to this is stops me from seeing some of my friends as often as i used to. puts me in a really bad predicament.
This is a really difficult issue to tackle

i honestly don't know what is happening in Somalia at the moment so i cant't say too much on that topic. i didn't even know this video is in Somalia, i thought that it was just somalians in the UK hence why i wasn't too surprised at what i had seen.
Lets reunite the ummah under one flag LA ILAHA IL ALLAH MUHAMMADUR RASULULLAH
Cool cool, but the video warranted some context. I also just posted a little rant in the YouTube comments (which mandatorily lowers my IQ but it is done).
A thing to remember is that while in the UK, people may "dress different" because of their faith etc and not totally blend in with the local culture, in some places the normal dress culture is the same as what people would wear if they were doing it for religion.
The people could not be the strictest of people when it comes to religion but still just dress as what is "normal" where they live.
We are basing the reaction to the actions on how it would be if people went out of their way to dress like that, as would be the case in the UK.

This isn't free mixing though.
You can be around the opposite gender and still be decent and modest.
(a very large majority of women in Muslim countries have been harrassed in one way or another so we can't pretend that their way is superior.)
The important thing to remember is decency and modesty and that can be achieved in more than one ways.

i was referring to the young muslims out there that hang around non- mahrams on a regular basis which is completely haram.
Lets reunite the ummah under one flag LA ILAHA IL ALLAH MUHAMMADUR RASULULLAH
I would guess that depends on what is meant by hanging around and what they do.
Segregation is not a perfect cure to everything and in many cases it can cause its own problems.

as far as i know you shouldn't be around people of the opposite sex which are non mahram unless it is for education, dawah or business. anything else is haram, but i could be wrong
