I have been contemplating in buying a phone for quite a while now and I need some advice. If you have any recommendations please comment.
So I have really wanted an Iphone for a long time and just as I was about to purchase it, I got told that it was 'no good'. Now I have no idea what the term 'no good' refers too, but I decided against buying it. I didn't want to waste my money that I had been saving up for a while on something, that in the end would decieve me ;).
My cousin has a BlackBerry and he said that it was really good and a lot better than the Iphone.
So I'm a bit stuck. I want to get a new phone, because my old one is betraying me, but I don't want to get one that would, in the end, not be worth the money.
So please Help me!

Go for an android - Samsung Galaxy S, Motorola Milestone 2, HTC Desire Z are the top of the block atm. Or if you want, go for the next tier which are about as good - HTC Desire, SE Xperia X10 (which I have) and a bunch of others. Plenty of choice.
IF you top up more than about £15 a month, get a contract for a similar amount and get the phone for free.

Live the simple life with one of those Nokia 6200 something or other.
Once you go to smart phones, it canbe hard to go back.
I had to recently use my old phone for a week as I sent in the new one for repairs, and it was like being back in the dark ages!
Saying that, my old one was a touch phone, and the 6200 I suppose has buttons... but the jump up to android/iphone etc is HUGE.

Simple is the best way, saying that I'm looking at getting a really expensive camera...so shut up Sully.
I think the iphone apps are absolutely fab!! and I wouldnt mind having them, though I would get an ipod touch instead....
i dnt knw if the blackberry has similar apps, so I cant compare, so I would say to get the iphone.....my friend got it for £200 suin and I think its going for around £400 rrp. I could ask if u want??? or go further and get it second hand....I got my phone second hand from ebay and is good as new!!

The Google Nexus S got announced today, and I suspect it will be a brilliant phone (probably very similar/identical to the Samsung Galaxy S as Samsung is the manufacturer).

iphone. iv had the 3gs and iv got the iphone 4 nw.....i'd say go for iphone 4 because its got battery life but if you dont wana break the bank then the 3gs is fine aswel....both are very similar in terms of speed and both the phones are designed well.If you do get an iphone first things first is to get a screen protector (zagg to a good all round phone protective skin...altho they start to wear after a few months) ....and if you go for the iphone 4 then get the protector and a case just so you dont get the 'signal' issues that people talk of....iv got a case on mines and never had any signal problem in most locations ....ermmm except in one of the lecture halls in uni can mostly get full bars.
I'v never owned a blackberry and..dont think iv ever used one...but i can say that it cant compare to the iphone simply for the fact that the iphone software is too advanced for likes of blackberry. But obv your gna use the phone for texting lol so if all your mates are on BB then its perhaps an option coz of the BBpin service those phones have.
....O one more thing i wouldnt be as fond of my iphone if it 'wasn't' jailbroken....so if your into all that hacking stuff then you could perhaps read up on it and jailbreak it yourself otherwise u might knw someone who could do it....but personally the iphones would be no good to me if it wasn't jailbroken, simply that you cant do much with it if its not jailbroken.
