There's a fire.

You can take one thing, what'll it be?

No smart arse answers : e.g "nothing, we have insurance" or "phone, so i can call the ambulance quick so we can save all our things" etc.

Basically, EVERYTHING but the one thing you take will be cremated by the house fire.

And the people/pets in the house can all leave so you needn't worry about that.

qur'an and if thats already gone then my lappy/externall hdd coz its got precious stuff in it thats important to me.

It wouldn't be terribly convenient taking the whole internet...

so maybe phone with internet on it. (laptop would be better but I don't have one - I used a proper PC. [proper keyboard and mouse for the win!)

EDIT

Oh, thats good. Mainly because I didn't even think about that.

What would you choose?

would you want to live without the internet? Hmm... a card can buy a new phone... so maybe that would be a better choice.

Buuuuut you could also call up the bank anytime after and get a new card with which you can buy a phone. Don't you want to take something irreplaceable?

What could you class as irreplaceable? Objects all can be replaced. Or maybe I have nothing that I hold too dear.

Not necessarily, it's possible to just have a bad memory you know.

And something calm so i could focus. Rocky songs make it impossible to think

Why not? More to choose from.

But why can't I just be boring and happy that I survived a fire instead of crying over all the possessions that I've lost?

Didn't say you couldn't :]

Hey, this reminds me of a Plato lesson. Don't you think it's a bit weird that we say MY body? Like it's not us, just possessions of ours? So do you think, when leaving you ARE taking a possession of yours, you're taking your body?

eenteresting.

I did assume that clothes were not included within the one item limit, so maybe I assumed my body wasn't either.

For some reason, the title of this reminds me of some song. Cannot remember what though.

Are you saying that the mind is completely separate from the body?
