Why is this the year of the messiah? Has it been foretold?
Or is this more about hopes and aspirations?

I couldn't agree more. Malik, get your facts straight. The things you are saying is such a disgrace to Muslims. This is NOT the year of the messiah buddy. First of all, the messiah coming (whenever he will come) is a FALSE Messiah. Second, give me clear, solid proof that this is the crazy year you're talking about. Clear, solid proof as in the Quran or Hadith, nothing else. May Allah swt help us in that time, whenever it is. Stop saying this junk, and stop saying all of these things about America. I happen to be a Muslim born in America. I'm as American as Obama, and as long as I am, I'll stay true to the country, just as I will be true to Muslims. Sure, certain American people have made some incredibly large mistakes, and sure, there is a whole load of haters, but that doesn't mean you or I should be one. Why do we ask why people hate against the whole nation of Muslims because of certain Muslims' mistakes if people like you are hating against America because of certain people's mistakes? You need to look at things from different point of views and use them to help create your own view, not just come up with a view insensitively by yourself.

I dont think anyone can really predict the End of Time (unless you're in a Doctor Who episode) and i certainly dont think the exact date is mentioned anywhere. Only the signs of the end.
So it would be rather difficult to prove. And even then would people believe it? Dangerous and mysterious this puzzle is. Only Allah (swt) knows best.
