Dying alone

, so what happens next? Just under 5 minute broadcast discussing this and how sometimes the body is not discovered for months or even years!

My neighbour who lived alone, died in the house.

His body was discovered 2/3 weeks after. When he was late with the rent.
Had to call the cops to come down and force an entry. Found him dead in the kitchen, decomposing. Cooker still on. It didnt smell to great.

that's what will happen to more and more muslims, since these days kids are following the western trends. They don't want to look after their elderly parents. Depending on how able bodied the parents are children should live nearby or have their parents live with them.

The way you die is less important than the destination.

At least believers go to Heaven.

It matters.

Eventually Insha'Allah.

There is also either punishment/reward in the grave too (I think, unless I just made that up?), so its not all "eventually".

As an example, I would not want to die .

So, how you die matters. Unless you do not mind excruciating pain as the life is squeezed out of you.

Facts matter less than feelings IMO.

"pain is scary."

but the damage matters less than the pain. IMO.

Its like a part I wanted to get into in my "power of delusion" blog post - the only "real" things are what is in your head. Now if your head is filled with pain, pain is real and it matters.

Did you know that there are no pain sensors in your head, so headaches are supposed to be impossible?

i know it may be shaytan whispering to me but omrows comments makes me think the following. Why should muslims by name alone get to heaven "eventually" regardless of how badly they lived in this dunya?

I mean i've heard countless lectures where the speaker says according to islam even the worst of sinners (muslims) will eventually go to heaven after being punished in hell. Why? Why should they be allowed to go to heaven even if they never practiced a day in their life? they never did salat, they never did a ramadan fast, did not give Zakat, disobeyed their parents, committted all sorts of sins and flouted all of Allahs laws, why should they eventually go to paradise just because they were born into a muslim family? Why is their status any better than a non muslim who did the same as them? I know i should not say this but i don't see how they are any better than non muslims who commit the same acts, so why do they have such a high status?

If such inviduals will go to heaven "eventually" then why do you or I or millions of other muslims make sacrifices and beat ourselves up everyday to try and follow some of Allahs laws? I mean isn't it easier to behave like these ppl not practice and get an easy ticket into heaven?

Anyone know the answer from an islamic point of view, or got any links much appreciated.

They have eeman and that’s all you need.

I am sure you are aware of the incident that took place between the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) and the sahabi who asked about when the day of judgement will be and when asked what had he prepared he said, I have nothing but the love of God and the Prophet (saw).

What makes you think that those who do all of the above (pray, fast etc) are going to enter jannah? God created jannah and jahannam and He will decide who goes where. Only God knows the real condition of our hearts, no matter how much we pray, fast, do dawah, hajj/umrah etc we don’t know if it have even been accepted or not. Only God knows our true motives, after all he did create us. We can claim to love God, claim to love the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) but only God knows how true that claim is.

That line of thought says more about the person thinking that than the non practicing person. It shows greed and selfishness. It is the nafs. Awliya are awliya because they worship God because they love Him and not out of fear for jahannam or desire for jannah. They pray, fast, do dhikr,, dawah because they love Him and want nothing but a glance of His beauty. And for that true love, God will reward them by lifting the veil that separates them and Him.

We should always pray for guidance and purity of the heart.

I am pretty sure that the sahabi in that incident was probably being modest... ("real" modest as opposed to the fake modest you see these days "I am not even worthy to be the droppings of a dog stuck on the shoes of someone living in blah blah")

@ Hajjar - It all depends on what is the purpose of life - if it is to believe in God, the rest of the stuff is of lesser importance, and eg a person is not executed for stealing a chocolate bar - that is what you are wanting there. There may be some personal issues/unresolved anger there.

EDIT - besides, people will pay for their crimes. What you should be doing instead of demanding/wanting/thinking that they go to hell for ever and ever and ever is to thank the lord that you are as able to follow the rules as you are.

I think it'd be nice to die knowing people around you are happy and that they don't need you. Then you don't have to worry. But then you won't be worrying about them will you? You'll be more worried about yourself..and what happens to you after death.

Okay, that doesn't even make any sense.
