Galloway TV shows 'broke rules'

George Galloway's shows on an Iranian-funded TV channel broke broadcasting rules on impartiality, Ofcom has said.

Two shows hosted by the Respect MP during the Gaza conflict in January did not give enough weight to pro-Israeli views, the regulator ruled.

The "overwhelming majority" of content was pro-Palestinian and no phone calls reflected pro-Israeli opinion, it said.

Press TV argued it had met the broadcasting code by giving viewers of differing opinions a chance to respond.

I find this a moronic decision. I am sure the condemnation of Israeli actions in the January atrocities was almost universal - the only ones supporting Israeli actions were Israeli officials and Tony Blair. The rest of the world saw right through the propaganda for what it was.

What would be more reasonable would be to sanction the other TV stations for almost exclusively having IDF military spokesmen and shills giving the "Israeli side".

Sometimes not having a bias is in itself unjust, especially when the wrongs of one side are so clear to see.
