The Browser wars are expanding and Google has just launched its foray into the war - Google Chrome.

I am posting this message using Chrome and I think I like it. It's fast and has a minimalist style.
It also seems to import all the settings from Firefox.
It has a few nice bells and whistles too - you can drag a tab to the desktop to open a new browser, and you can drag tabs between browsers. It is also supposedly better with web applications.
The url/address/omni bar is a little ugly with the large font and slight greying out bits of the url, but it is usable. Not as good as the Firefox "Awesome Bar".
From the options menu I chose to show the homepage button and not to give Google the permission to snoop (it already knows way too much about me!). A few more options whopuld have been nice, but overall, I like it.
Did I mention that it is fast?
It's good.
Yup - just need a few more privacy options such as delete cookies on close etc etc.

Google chrome released version 1.0 a few weeks ago.
Anyone using it as their main browser?
I am sticking to firefox - too used to it.

Yep.
Btw got a new laptop today. It's long trying to downgrade from vista to xp pro.
Consider sticking to Vista. IMO It really is better.
EDIT - want a list of programs utilities etc that may be of use?

I've got vista business... so legally I am allowed to downgrade to xp pro bt it's a headache.
Yes please.
I added a couple of blog posts. One and two.
Those however don't contain mention of browsers. The only real options here on windows are Firefox, Opera, and Chrome.
There are other options such as Seamonkey, Internet Explorer, K Meleon and a few others but they are not necessary and rely on much of the technology from the above browsers anyway.
and yes, this post makes me feel smart and elitist.

Because you found it funny? Or you found that to be untrue and maybe even surprising.
