The Final Destination..

You only live twice?! Something for you to all watch! It acts as a reminder to always think twice about the choices we make in life and to choose the better options! Remember where you've come from and where your heading..

(Oooo, kind of scared me, a quarter of the way through, when something unexpected popped up! And the fake 'red' paint is not of my liking..)

He prayed in his nursery :)

Well, i came home and my little brother, (he's three years old), was dying to read the Quran. Its colour coded and each manzil has its background colour, and obviously, to him, its very interesting and fascinating.

Im suprised why he asked for it so instantly and he told me that in his day-care nursery, they had prayed Jumuah today and the teachers had made him take his shoes off, so he had absolutely loved performing the actions and he'd been a good boy today! (Apart from when one of his teachers said she'd told him off for kicking the toys LOL)

So, it got me thinking. It's pretty obvious that having certain experiences and opportunites at such a young age, will help him to become a better Muslim when he grows up i'A.

Please Listen

When I ask you to listen to me

and you start giving me advice,

you have not done what I asked.

When I ask you to listen to me

and you begin to tell me why

I shouldn’t feel that way,

you are trampling on my feelings.

When I ask you to listen to me

and you feel you have to do something

to solve my problem,

you have failed me,

strange as that may seem.

Listen! All I ask is that you listen.

Don’t talk or do - just hear me.

By Sean Covey ..

There's a hole in my sidewalk.

I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost … I am helpless.
It isn’t my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.
.

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don’t see it.
I fall in again.
I can’t believe I am in the same place.
But, it isn’t my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.
.

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in. It’s a habit.
My eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault. I get out immediately.

My Brother +& Nasheeds

Asalaamu Alaykum..
Wanted to share this with all.

Yesterday, I realised the true and real power of music. How a few lines affect individuals even at the age of 2 (nearly three). The emotive language used really hit him...

We were sitting in the car listening to Zain Bhikha's album, Allah Knows. Towards the end of 'My Mum Is Amazing', my brother looked at me with a saddened face and said: 'Humerwa, I can't like that one'.

The Aadaab Of Seeking Knowledge..

There are some points to be taken into consideration when setting out to seek knowledge:

1. Have the correct intention. The Prophet Muhammad(S) said: 'All actions are based on intentions and for every person is what he intends'.

2. Stay away from sins. The story of Imam Shaf'ee is essential. When he complained to his teacher about his weak memory, his teacher advised him to 'leave sins' and not long after he became a renowned figure in Islam.

3. Act upon what you have learnt. It is said 'Knowledge without action is like a load with no carrier'. What benefit is this to anyone? If you can not practise upon your own knowledge, what will others learn from you?

A Muslim Female Role Model

We all desire to be something or someone better. It is human nature to be dissatisfied with oneself. Our efforts to enhance our lifestyles are limitless. We are always looking for new ways to improve ourselves. However, we have channel our desires to excel in a certain direction. We should ask ourselves, if there was someone I wanted to imitate who would it be? Who could we take as an example, a standard to measure ourselves against? Would it be the stick thin models of today, who do not even have the common sense to realise they are being exposed and disposed of whenever it suits the fashion industry? Or would it be the Bollywood stars, who are not even recognisable for their acting skills, but rather their parents were legends in this industry of idol worship?...
