Getting hooked up? - With Allah.

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (R) who said that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: Our Lord descends each night to the Earth's sky when there remains the final third of the night and He says: 'Who is saying a prayer to Me that i may answer it? Who is asking something of Me that i may give it him? Who is asking forgiveness of Me that i may forgive him?'. - Bukhari.

Let's hook up with Allah, and Allah will hook us up! Let's hook up with prayer and supplication. Let's hook up with the Qur'an. Let's hook up with our community work and all the possible good deeds that we can do. Let's have that certainty that when we struggle to please Allah Almighty, He, Ash-Shakoor, is the Most Appreciative of our work and will undoubtedly reward us accordingly.

I am Kashmir. By San'aa Sultan.

I AM KASHMIR. Here's some new spoken word poetry by San'aa Sultan for y'all. Have a listen at: . Kashmir has been under siege for the past five days with no medicine, food, communication or internet. Our silence will allow this to continue, so please don't stop here. Find out much more about the situation in Kashmir and spread the word.

Friday's Fire Alarm.

At my sixth form, there's about 8 blocks/separate buildings. One of them is the RS/dining block, you can call it whatever you like. In one of the rooms upstairs, almost all of the Muslim students in the school come to pray Dhuhr during the lunch break. You even have the little Year 7's who don't usually wear a Hijab, but they take time out, to make wudhu and carry a Hijab in their bag, which i find really cute.

The strong brick wall that takes its time to crumble.

I want to be a wall. I want to be that strong brickwall with no feelings. No emotions. No happiness. No sadness.

Even though we can't communicate with it and see or feel its pain and joy, it could be getting bruised every time the little boy down the lane decides to kick a football at it, or it could be getting annoyed when the passerby decides to lean his foot and back against it, or it could be loving the colourful new look by the simple splash and wetness of a spray can or it could be yearning to join in and have a laugh with the two sisters while they tiggle its spine as they walk upon it.

Believe in yourself.

Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (ra) said: I said: “O Messenger of Allah, which of the people are most sorely tested?” He said: “The Prophets, then the next best and the next best. A man will be tested in accordance with his level of religious commitment. If his religious commitment is strong, he will be tested more severely, and if his religious commitment is weak, he will be tested in accordance with his religious commitment. Calamity will keep befalling a person until he walks on the earth with no sin on him.” Reported in At-Tirmidhi.

Just studs.

No, no, before you start shouting and saying why did you buy so many and what are you going to do with them all, i best tell you that they're not mine. This collection belongs to a girl i know. She had 200 of them, but now she's stuck with 176. This collection does not include any of her long earings, hoop earings or ear cuffs. They're JUST STUDS. Blimey.

Every Moment a New Birth

Learn to see each moment as it’s own birth–entirely separate from the moment that proceeded it, and from the moment that will follow. Each moment is a new existence, a new world in which we will be born and will die. Our problem is that we become enslaved to the moments that have passed, enslaved to old worlds that have already passed away. But in reality, more than a thousand times a day, we are born. Yet many of us choose to just let ourselves die again and again, as each new moment fades. We forget that each birth is a new opportunity to start over, to turn around, or to keep going. To rise higher, to heal, to grow. To be different. Better. Each new moment calls for transformation, renewal, return. Tawbah. But we’re too busy dying.
