The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians
Living in the 21st century in England not many people are embarrased by the mention of sex but some Asians are. Espcially older generations and im just thinking should it really be such of a taboo? (not sure if thats the right word but lets go with it ๐ )
So yesterday i had to watch* "Noor T.V" cuz of my parents and in an ad break there was an advert informing people of Hepatitis C, the symptopms and how it can be passed on through dirty needles and blood. There was no mention of the fact that its an STI! i found it a little funny how they managed to leave probably the most information out. Although i admit i would feel awkward if sex or anything related to it was mentioned whilst i sit there watching with my family but it is something important which everyone should know about and its quite silly to make such an advert and then miss out information like that, don't u think?
*Normally its torture but there was a hilarious comedy on, called "in se milye" ๐

On second thoughts, I was wrong - you can go too far - that is not "educating" but encouraging. Catchy catchphrase though.
Re: The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians
{sigh} :|
Re: The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians
there should be ISLAM N SEX EDUCATION courses done in every mosque
im thinking of speaking to mosques/scholars to put something together
like a roadshow across UK going from mosque to mosque or islamic centre to centre etc
its about time parents /teenagers/youth were taugh about sex education according to islam
Re: The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians
Ed, wasn't there a Revival Article on this?
Re: The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians
There is a level of cluelessness in adults too - recently I heard of a woman who wanted her brother to divorce his wife and get remarried. Why? because they just had daughters, so obviously it was a problem with the woman, right? science says wrong (I think).
Re: The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians
exactly - that is what I thought it was too (but it was an awful long time ago), so if the "elders" were taught such stuff, they would (potentially) not be (as) stuck in the backwards mindset. Ignoring the question that she may have thought boys as superior to girls as offspring...

Isn't it the man that determine's the sex ??
whatever the answer, they should be happy
I hate it when people are always waiting for the baby to be a boy and when they dont have any boys they just moan about it

Re: The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians
ok it may be embarrasing for me to watch something on telly and then something inappropriate to come on but when its the adults watching the lame drama's its MUCH worse.
Its cuz u don't expect them to have any dodgy scenes and then you get the odd ones and everyones kinda confused and doesnt know what to do.
sooo awkward

You were thinking of the word 'brash' or 'brashful' which means a loud person with no grace.
Re: The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians
we dont sit with women to watch kafir TV. simple as.
when they watch it we go out or sit in other room and chat men stuff.
when we watch tv, women go and sit somewhere else and talk womenly things. whatever.
we all watch together Noor TV or Hadayat TV and discuss islamic debates. Halal pure we watch together.
But when other indian shit and hollywood shit is on other channels, we dont sit in same room. men go and leave women alone to watch what they want. They really appreciate us giving them room to freely enjoy their programs.
we dont stop women from watching dramas or whatever. we simply dont sit with them in front of TV. they can watch it on their own.
when we men want to watch Gladiator or Braveheart, women know its men time and they go in other rooms.
its haraam to have your mothers aunts and sisters in same room where kafir TV is on. its bad for men and its bad for women.
mostly the women of family watch their dramas serials from 7 to 9pm or whatever. we men watch TV after 10.
this system works beautifully for all of us. we are all happy at it.
when we visit our extended families homes, we dont watch tv. its swtiched off. we are there to talk to them, and not sit together and watch movies. sometimes we stay there until late 11 or 12 then drive back at night.
May God forgive us for our mistakes that upset Him. Ameen.
Re: The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians
I am not going to comment on those tv watching habits...
but just imagine you are watching the news - for your sake, lets say that you are watching Press TV. a pure and erm.. pure? channel.
and the next news story is one about Joseph Fritzel. Now imagine someone elderly in your family decides to ask you what the story is about? maybe a guess who does not know.
Don't tell me it will not make you cringe.

OMG yeah, have to simply ignore them
Re: The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians
Press TV told story of Joseph Fritzel. We sent lanat of evil zani bastard and said thhis is how evil kafir western godless peopple are.
Re: The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians

How can you generalise the whole of mankind, or even a large subset by the actions of one individual?
You must know that if this was the norm, then it would not have been news...

Muslims can say these type of sins are normal in kafir soceity.
They call all us muslims terrorists just because a few wahhabis carry out violent acts.
Joseph Fritzel type are the norm in kafir countries. Just because kafir TV hide their dirty deeds does not means they are all clean. you dont see a lot of porn on BBC do you? But we all know what is going on in cinemas video stores and naked women lap dancing clubs.
Sleeping with their own daughters and sisters of normal for dirty minded kafirs. They have no morals. They even let gays become vicars. Last week I saw on SKYNEWS the were having sex with children in churches in Ireland. So many kids were raped. Kafirs are evil and dark. They have denied God and Satan has got them now.

Actually, no. Two wrongs don't make a right.
As for hiding things - I would say that is more likely in Muslim countries that here in the west - liberalism has this effect that less stuff becomes private and skeletons in peoples closets are sometimes discussed openly and honestly.
Not all the time, but some of the time.

Re: The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians
malik do u think noor tv shouldve told people hepatitis C is an STD?
Re: The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians
malik do u think noor tv shouldve told people hepatitis C is an STD?
This is actually not a too simple question - if it being called an STD makes less people check for it, worry about it... that can be harmful too.
On the other hand, not knowing also has its dangers.
Re: The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians
why would they not check after its called an std? :S
Re: The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians

They should have just said that committing zina is great haram act. which we all know anyways.
TV can tell people things is a respectable way and not in a kafir way.
For example, they could say:
If you anger Allah, you will be getting the zina diseases like bla bla bla whatever.
You dont have to show naked dirty women to make your point.
Re: The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians
no one said anything about naked women being shown :/
but im not being funny/rude or anythign but the Pakistanis that watch noor tv are most of the time old and unlearned <
Re: The Mention of Sex in Front of Asians
I like that stuff on NOOR TV where three
sunnis sisters debate about with one wahhabis sister.
She asks them proof about bidat and shirk etc.
its good discussion. some other programs are good too.
mostly I watch Hidayat TV 803, or AHLULBAYT TV 842 which is all in English.
