I see, thanks. This is why I ask so many questions!

[quote=Ya'qub]Why do jinn live in toilets?

And also, how do you know?

And also, why would they want to possess someone?

before i start or try to answer or questions i have to emphasise how important it is that you seek knowledge rather than you make your self look silly asking silly questions. (i didnt mean this in a rude way my brother, just stating a principal)

why do jinns live in toilets i dont know but maybe because they are filthy. if you know the Dua for entering the toilet and understand arabic then you would know what your saying but i'm asuming you havent got the slighest clue of arabic language. in that case i'll help by trying to translate the dua for you insha allah.

Dua for entering the toilet:

ALLAHUMA INNI AU'UDZUBIKA = OH ALLAH VERILY I SEEK REFUGE/PROTECTION
MINNAL KHUBTHSI = FROM THE MALE FILTHY DEVILS
WAL KHABA'ITH = AND THE FEMALE FILTHY DEVILS

inshallah this is probably the best i can do in terms of translation but if you buy your self a book called the fortress of the muslim, you will find that every dua has been transliterated and translated to the best of the ability of the english language.

2- how do I know they live in toilets? I would'nt be seeking refuge from my lord before entering the toilets from them. insha allah

and there are many cases where in ruqyah treatment when in to contact with the jinn, it would be asked why did you possess the person and where. most cases are in the toilets because people do not protect themselves before entering such filthy places.

3- why would they posses you, in most cases jinns dont possess mankind unnecessarily. but there are some whom are bad among them, like there are some who are bad among us. when the youths went around HAPPY SLAPPING innocent ppl (did they deserve it?) like wise for some jinns they play with us in such manner that we cannot really comprehend the knowledge (because this is reffered to as 'ILM AL GHAIB' (KNOWLEDGE OF THE UNSEEN) and their happiness comes from our sorrowness. this is how they have fun. but in most cases we would have done something to them unknowingly(chuck hoter on them, spit on them, sleep in their spot and etc...), so they would react by possessing us hurting us and what not.

anyways i have tried to answer what ever i could akhi, forgive me if it werent the best of explanations.

by the way I DO NOT CURE FOR SURELY THE CURE IS FROM ALLAH JALA WA'ALA.

ALLAH SAYS IN THE QURAN, WAN NU NAZILU MINAL QURANU MA HUWA SHIFAA.....

AND WE SENT DOWN FROM THIS QURAN THAT WHICH IS A CURE......

PLEASE STUDY YOUR DEEN BE IN KNOW RATHER THAN IN IGNORANCE.

AND SHOULD YOU TRUST ME? I COULDNT CARE LESS WHETHER YOU TRUST ME OR NOT. IM NOT HERE TO GAIN YOUR TRUST. SO LONG AS I AM SPEAKING FROM THE QURAN AND SUNNAH HAVE TRUST IN YOUR LORD AND AND HIS RASOOL SALALAHU ALAIHI WA SALAM.

WASLAMA

SHARIF

SALAM POINT 16 IN MOST CASES IS NOT A SIGN OF POSSESSION BUT IT DOES NOT RULE OUT THE POSSIBILTY OF IT BEING SO. BUT IF IT IS THEN THIS SORT OF PAIN IS CAUSED BY BLACK MAGIC (STILL THE HANDIWORK OF THE JINN VIA THE ORDERS OF A MAGICIAN).

WASALAMA

EVEN IF ONE WRE TO MEET 2 OR 3 OF THE SYMPTOMS IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT THEY ARE POSSESSED OR HAVE SIHR ON THEM, BUT SEEKING THE RUQYAH TREATMENT WILL JUST PUT HEARTS AND MINDS AT REST, JUST TO BE SURE THAT THEY ARE NOT POSSESSED OR HAVE BLACK MAGIC DONE TO THEM.

THE RUQYAH TREATMENT IS LIKE A THERAPY SESSION. THE PRACTITIONER WILL ONLY RECITE PARTICULAR VERSES OF THE QURAN AND MAKE DUA AND SOME DHIKRS ACCORDING TO THE SUNNAH. SOME VERSES BURN THE JINNS SO BADLY THAT THEY END UP TALKING TO YOU AND ASK YOU TO STOP.

Lol - Where did you get your translation from?

"O Allah, I seek refuge with you from all evil and evil-doers."

Also, if you know history, not everyone had toilets in the past - people used to wander into secluded spots to relieve themselves. Any out of public view place could have been a "toilet".

هل أنت تتكلم أل لغاتل عربي

oui. (oops, wrong language)Well, i learnt a little bit a long time ago.

(I wanted to sneak in a different language here, but I have no idea how to properly spell camsi camsa, what language it is and am not even sure what that means.)

Do you know/speak arabic?

EDIT - and is that sentence gramatically correct? My arabic may be old and rusty, but the sentence seems to be lacking.

Hmmm... I love how you've taken the Islamic principal of politeness to a whole next level masha'Allah!

Can you tell me what is the difference between 'seeking knowledge' and 'asking questions' is? They seem to be exactly the same thing to me.

Sharif Abdur Rahman wrote:

'filthy' means covered in dirt. Dirt is physical. Jinn aren't physical. Maybe you are talking out of your filth-hole!

It's amazing how you know so much about me, especially the fact that I've never lived nor studied in an Arab country before.

Also, non-experts like you, who don't know that 'jinn' is a plural ('jinni' is the singular), not 'jinns' as you have written, shouldn't even attempt to translate Qur'an/ahadith (not 'hadiths') into English - this might lead to inaccurate/crazy/warped misunderstandings about Islam.

I'm not trying to say that I am in any better position to translate things than you are, but I suggest that you consult a proper scholar instead of relying on your own 'intellect'.

Brother, I'm well aware that possessions are real, they are documented in the sunnah - my problem is with lay-people (amateurs) claiming that they possess the ability to say if a person today is possessed or not. Where is the proof that so-and-so is possessed rather than lazy/short-tempered?

Which ties in well with what you said after this:

Sharif Abdur Rahman wrote:

What you're saying is that humans can NEVER tell if someone is really possessed or not, because humans can NEVER have ilm al ghaib. So you're actually arguing against your own point. Well done!

Sharif Abdur Rahman wrote:

'Sorrowness isn't a word. Another criterion for translating Qur'an/Sunnah into English is being able to speak English properly. If you want some help with this I can suggest some good language schools, insha'Allah.

I forgive you!

Sharif Abdur Rahman wrote:

Don't you think that sounds a teensy bit arrogant? And I'm sure you're well aware that no soul that contains even an atom's weight of arrogance will enter Jannah. I suggest you be careful in this - if I got the wrong end of the stick, and you didn't think that you were better than little-old-uneducated-unknowledgable-me, then I apologise.

I'm gload that you can be so happy with yourself and sure that you have understood the Qur'an and Sunnah 100% accurately. I wish I could share your self-confidence. My problem is that I am too scared that I might say the wrong thing through ignorance and then cast myself into Jahannum.

May Allah (swt) Give us all Knowledge, Wisdom and Judgment, Protect us from the Evil in our own hearts and the Evil of Shaitan (and other jinn), Forgive us for our many faults and moments of weakness and Enter us into Paradise together. Ameen!

(I hope you can share in my du'aa - it's not from Fortress of the Muslim, it's from my heart.)

They are?

(and yes, my major problem is what you said afterwards... but even possessions I need to be convinced about.)

'al' prefix before arabii.

Comme ci comme ca and ci and ca have cedillas so are pronounced like 's'.
