There have been many "conservative" figures who've been revealed to be morally decadent like Rush Limbaugh, Christopher Hitchens and that evangelist guy who was caught with a prostitute.
The writer more or less suggests the lack of "acknowledgement" or ftawa's against Hitchens is doing him harm.
So, I have no idea why I am publicising it a little more.

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
I heard some of his 'God is Not Great' book about the Hadith, and his whole lack of understanding was apparant when he siad that Ali (ra) was the founder of Shia Islam

It makes me laugh when people say, "Oh it's the 21st century..." and all that rubbish. Well surely that means we've got to be progressing, and not destroy society by binge drinking, sleeping around, putting sex and romance before the serious dialogue and being intolerant while thinking we're so tolerant?
It's about progressing not going downhill!
I'm a centre-leftist. I believe in political libertarianism, within reason. I believe in economic socialism and I belive that people should be allowed personal freedom within reason. Liberal doesn't always mean individualism, in that case Margaret Thatcher was a big Liberal!
Sometimes I feel that Islam says one thing, but society says another, and before I felt that common sense agreed with what society said. Now all that;'s starting to change.
You know I actually feel scared that things that shouldn't be acceptable are becoming acceptable. Like cheating and sleeping around. I think ten years down the line incest will be socially acceptable! I really HATE to say this but, I even think that 20 years down the line paedophiles will have the "It's how I feel," justification! Unless, of course we stand up and prevent it and Allah helps us.

I would agree with you. Things are becoming more acceptable, the classic example is homosexuality, which used to be a mental illness before as it was listed in the DSM. Some Muslims even claim that homosexuality is compatible with Islam. There are other areas which Muslims have already compromised using convincing logical arguments. There is no doubt that it will get worse. The Prophet said that a time will come when a person following his religion will be like one holding on to a cinder.
Just goping through technorati and found a link to this bit about Hitchens : [url=http://backofthebook.ca/culture/2007/05/does-christopher-hitchens-exist.... Does Christopher Hitchens exist?[/url]
