The thing about good riddles is unless you already know the answer, it is very unlikely to figure them out. And they do not have multiple answers. IMO.

well the first part of the poem does. Jack and jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down and broke his crown.

Therefore 4 legs went up but two came down 😃

1. a person crawling on their hands and knees (bit like four legs, the hands kinda amount to legs). The person then walks down the hill.

2. A person breaks 2 legs off the table and walks up the hill with the table (therefore you have 4 legs), then breaks the other 2 off and walks down with the table (except it wont be a table anymore).

3. A person walks up the hill with 2 chicken legs that are edible. He chomps on the legs and then walks back down with a full stomach but 2 legs.

4. (this is my personal favourite) me and seraphim walk up the hill. Once on top of the hill i punch seraphims and he comes back down 😂
