Big Brother's burka sister
BIG Brother bosses are set to introduce a veil-wearing “burka babe” into the house.
They are on the verge of selecting a Muslim girl with strict Islamic views for the series, which starts a week tonight.
Channel 4 chiefs don’t believe her appearance will trigger anything like the race row that hit Celebrity BB earlier this year.
Executives are desperate to avoid anything like the outcry over the treatment of Bollywood beauty Shilpa Shetty, 31.
And after lengthy meetings they decided a devout Muslim girl wearing a veil or headscarf would command respect in the house.
The housemate would also be able to educate the others about her beliefs and customs.
It is possible she may even wear a full-length gown covering her body.
An insider said: “There’s a strong feeling housemates this time round will quite rightly show the maximum respect for anyone from a different culture.
“We also believe that such a scenario could prove a fascinating learning experience for everyone involved.
“There’s a feeling that the show needs to prove that there are no racial
barriers and bosses are keen to have housemates who reflect all sides of society.”
A show spokesman said: “Big Brother never confirms housemates prior to the reveal on launch night.

Comment:
If she really strictly followed Islam by wearing a burka, would she sleep in a room with men?
What do the makers of Big Brohter hope to achieve?
Will any practicing sister who wears a burka go on Big brother?
Notice how Islam has become a source of controversy and the Muslim woman the focus for western interest.
We as Muslims have a big duty to educate non-Muslims about our belief, how it is based upon intellect and not blind faith like the evolution thory.
Also Islam is a way of life which has solutions for socital problems and the Caliphate existed for over 1000 years and set new standards in many areas of science and technological advancement.

i think she's a muslim of Pakistani origins, but i could be wrong. I;m going by the name it's widely used by this community.
Anyways she obviously doesn't want to be remembered for her religious background so no need for us to attack her for being muslim if she is.

Yes I can see that. I only watched the launch show to see who is going in. It would have been really weird if, as a newspaper said, a Niqabi would go on. Not really the best place for practising Muslims.
Yeah all women = fighting on the way.

I tried watching today. A couple of the girls are pretty fit. E4 and E4+1 were simultaneously broadcasting Big Brother Live but showed the same housemates in different places. And they have an annoying habit of intermittently replacing conversation with the sound of birds twittering or planes overhead. Either way wasn't very interesting.

todays paper:
1 woman quit work just so she could watch Big Brother.
she has a £16,000 salary as a dj on radio (i think in portsmouth), but she quit her job so she can watch Big Brother all day, and then watch the highlights at night.
her boss thought she was mad, she admitted her friends thinks shes a saddo, but she says, 'i know they will ask me whats going on in the house'
AND?!!?! LOONEY WOMAN. whats the world coming too

Its such a pile of crap... they've fitted the place out with all women so they can {rhymes with witch} at each other and then they throw in a ex-model guy in there so they can record 2 perps flirting with each other. Its all crap. The Snowy channel is a lot more entertaining than this.
What the hell is Shabnam anyway?

What the HELL was she thinking? How stupid. I can't believe that happened. You just don't say that word! Pathetic girl. And to think they weren't even arguing.

Basing my judgement on the report Snoopz posted, it seems she was naive. She probably doesn't have many black friends and thought if she said it in jest she would be demonstrating permission to say it jokingly, referring more to its common use in ghetto slang than in the BNP, because she doesn't seem to have caused offence so much as surprise. It would be like if I thought it was OK to say paki amongst you just because I've heard Pakistanis and Muslims say it. Anyway I've no gripe with C4's decision but I think the girl just made an unlucky mistake.

i feel soooo sorry for Emily its obvious she werent being racist, it just came out. Charley was making such a big deal about it for someone who said it didnt bother them and i think she did it deliberately so that Emily would get thrown out. Its just soo obvious that charlie is lookin for sympathy from the public in case she gets nominated they wont boot her off because they feel sorry for her

n yh i felt a little sorry for emily- bless they took her out when she was half asleep

I believe that Emily Parr was only joking. She didnt mean to upset Charley Uchea.
I think Channel 4 are over reacting.
Plus, its between Emily and Charley. It is not anyone elses business.

The new Irish guy in the house said he converted to Islam in 2003. He said after 9/11 he could relate to british Muslims as they were being tereated similar to the Irish;ie as terrorists. So he went to a mosque and felt great and then later became a Muslim. But in 2005 he discovered he was gay and since then he has kind of left Islam.... but said he will never miss that feeling he discovered at the mosue, even now.
interesting....
Official Big Brother 2007 Topic
i cant even begin to understand how you can suddenly wake up one day and realise your gay. Surely if he had been touched by Islam then that would have been enough for him to keep on the straight and narrow and resist any haram inner wrong feelings he was having towards the same sex.
Official Big Brother 2007 Topic
Nobody can become a gay on a day.
You get brainwashed into this disease from childhood.
Men who are gays had bad friends. I blame parents for not bringing kids up in the right way. Allah will punish all gays. He made it haraam.

Careful Malik, people (like Richard Dawkins) say exactly the same thing about Muslims.[/quote]
