so y do kids have imaginary friends? i remember i used to have some (kind of) until i was about 9 or so... tel u that freaky story later...

but besides that^, anything kid-related, discuss it here. some members here are married, some have kids already - what is ur advice on bringing up kids?

those of us who are single: what is your outlook in bringing up ur own kids, would u do anything differently to the way ur parents brought u up?

do kids talk 'rubbish', or the pure truth?

is there anything wierd/funny that some kiddo u know has done? share it here... 😉

...and explain y u think kids do what they do. 😛 🙂

I cannot remember.... what was in my course. It was hamlet and another book. think it was Romeo and Juliet, but I cannot remember.

I never read them (its a long story... I was not attending when they were read in the school. I wrote the essays later on.), and just copied the essays off someone else.

speaking of kids, i thought i might post here coz summat happened the other day...

my mate's neice is real cute mashaAllah, she's 2 years old, and we get along really well. so the other day i was doing up my hijab in front of her, and she got her aunt's scarf and told me to put it on her too!! 🙂 none of the women in this lil' girls family wear hijab, so i thought it was amazing she was asking me to put it on her... aww.

moral of the story: kids are like sponges - they soak up whatever they see (good or bad) and are easily mouldable... so make sure u are a good example in front of them. 🙂

yea i hope so...got big plans for future ,children are quick on imitating.

i dont think i'll let my kids watch cartoons..they can have a negative effect on the child..probably well inshallah not gonna have a t.v.

gonna dress them up in sunnah libaas mostly ..another intention...little boys wearing jubas and topi will look so cute, and little girls in hijaabs.i'd want them to adopt to the proper islamic style inshallah.

I also have same idea. Aint gonna waste time or money on western clothes, sunnah libaas all the way.

People nowadays have tv and radio etc and plop kid infront of them. I aint gonna have them, better for the kids to grow up hearing their parents laughing and smiling. What can be better for a child to grow in a household filled with laughter and happiness on his/her mothers face? That will be the best upbringing.

I have to confess I would most likely send my sons back home to study in one of the big darul ulooms there when i think they old enough to live alone.

Imagine, 16 kids, and all the sons have sanad from Darul Uloom Deoband,or Darul Uloom Karachi. How amazing would that be. The best dar ul uloom in the world and your kids graduate from there.
May ALLAH accept it.

well they wud see it in the days when they are most impressionable, ie in their toddler years and early childhood.

I am convinced that better than TV, is for them to see their mothers face radiant and glowing, and also to hear their parents btu especially their mothers laughter ringing in their ears. I am sure their mothers laughter will be enough for their tarbiyah to be half done.

yeh i know, sad but true. my mates always used to ask me how i survived without a telly in the house... :roll:

oh to avoid any confusion (as i go on about the Xbox now and then) we [b]literally[/b]-speaking have a TV, but we've never had the cable plugged in i.e. no channels to surf - its only ever been there for consoles (Sega Saturn, then Playstation and now Xbox)...

Who knows, maybe the kids parents will also enrol in these madaris. Certainly I have intention to study in india and pak for a period of time in the future. make dua that ALLAH accepts me.
