That looks like a most excellent and comprehensive itinerary of Syria!

However, one of the major things I enjoyed while I recently visited was spending time talking to the locals and getting lost in the old city etc. with a guide with you constantly, I feel there is a danger of not getting to see the 'real' Syria, away from the touristy things.

Although, I did have some Syrian friends who made that easier for me, if I hadn't had that my experience could have been different I suppose...

i know, thats a terribly sad rule

i would love to visit jerusalem, but i also want to b able to go to arab countries afterwards so i cant really

my fiance's Malaysian passport says in big letters:

"valid for every country except Israel"

lol... do you guys not have a British Passport too?

Yes I can visit Israel with my british passport, but if I was to try to get into an arab country other than Egypt (and some other Muslim countries too), they wouldn't let me in if there was a stamp to say i'd visited israel.

This basically means many muslims cant really visit the 3rd Holiest mosque in Islam, unless of course the whole situation over there gets sorted out soon.... :roll:

:roll: The Israel situation is never gonna get sorted out till the day of judgement.... best thing you can do is go their on a banana boat and see how far you get.

banana boats look too similar to the cresent moon symbol, i'd be found out in a couple of minutes!

i would recommend Syria to anyone anyway, sorry mr Honey, maybe in the not-too-distant future things will start to get better insha'Allah.
