Questions regarding Shi'ism

i'm sure most sunni muslims are in the dark with regards to many shi'a practices. being ignorant about something often makes one more prejudiced, so now that we have a shi'a member on the forum, maybe it will do us all good to pose any queries we have to him.

other threads in which myself and other members posed questions have been locked, so i want to outline some rules for this thread:

- No Shi'a-bashing.
- No sahaba-bashing! :shock:
- No 'america'-bashing.

Malik, your answers to our questions from other threads are welcome here, as long as you are willing to follow the above rules. same with those who are going to ask a question - if you're not gonna follow the rules, don't bother posting because your post will probably get deleted anyway.

keep it sweet people and make this thread informative for those who read it! 🙂

fanzo, i'm not saying malik is an alim, but he probably has more access to a shi'a scholar than the rest of us to put forward the questions we're asking which he is unsure of. and how do we know if he has an answer or not if we don't ask in the first place? 😛

i'd rather ask than remain ignorant.

I am sorry sister dust I dont understand your question.
All I said was that if you have an honest doubt, even about existence God, then that would not held against you on the final day of judgement. Why would Allah punish you if you were genuinely confused about something? All honest and sincere people would be forgiven. People who lie and deny the truth even after knowing it full well, it is these individuals who will have a lot to answer for.

I am not an Alim. I am an ordinary Shia Muslim. I dont know everything about even my own madhab. I am still learning from Shia scholars.

All honest and sincere people would be forgiven.[/quote]but isn't that why God has made us superior to other animals by giving us an intellect? what use is it if we can't even question our very existence and the creation of the universe? Sunnis believe that if a person lived in such a time or place where no Prophet or the message of Islam ever reached him, then in order for him to be admitted into Heaven it would still be compulsory for him to have come to the realisation that One God exists and has power over everything, because nature and it's harmony is a sign of God's existence in itself.

Sometimes our intellect can have doubts due to many reasons;
but whoever is an honest person then at the end they would naturally come to belief in Allah. Allah guides the sincere heart. He leads astray those who decieves.
