I'M A DADDY!!!!!!:-) :-) :-)

salaam

Allah (swt) has blessed me with a baby boy on Sunday 26th November 2006!!!!

Its the greatest feeling in the world to be a dad!

Alhamdulillah, the baby is healthy and cute, like his dad of course:-)
My wife is also in good health and very happy and proud like me.

Make duaa that my son remains healthy and grows up to be a good person and make duaa that me and my wife are able to bring up our boy to the best of our ability.

The last few days have been crazy, hectic, stressful, exciting, scary, wonderful, nervy and unbelievable....

After witnessing what my wife had to go through during labour...you can only admire and respect women even more...and anyone says they're the weaker sex.... i dont know many guys who could tolerate the pregnancy and labour....:-) Smile

i read the azaan and iqamaah very shortly after my son was born... again a unique special feeling.

Next , its choosing the name... which me and my wife cant decide....
then its cutting his hair, the chop:-), haqeeqah....etc....

Some advice and tips from parents would be great.....and pls share your own experiences.

i think i have to now grow up:-) and probably have less time for revival...

but remember my little lad in your duaas pls.

wasalaam

MashaAllah and congrats :--)

May you both cherish all the happiness your son brings you, and may Allah keep him faithful, strong, and Allah-devoted. Ameen.

As a proud aunty of 2! Biggrin (mashAllah), the little words i could suggest is you stock up on the essentials - milk, nappies, etc Also, dont buy all 93849644 0-3 month clothes, because babies GROW FAST! Biggrin

May Allah shine sweet faith upon you this day and times beyond. May your heart be enriched with peace, and may your home be blessed always. Ameen.

We had a baby too, we had the babys head shaved, but do not know the fiqhi rulings what to do with the hair and how much charity to pay. Can somebody help us out here.

congradulations on ur baby boy May Allah swt blessed him throughout!

my advice to u Ed would be again to simply enjoy every second you have with ur son it's precious time don't let it slip"! ( i am sure u won't anyway Biggrin )

as for names Isa, Dawood, Yusuf , Musa catch my eyes amogst many other beautiful names.

A rose protects its beauty with thorns..a woman protects hers with a veil

So this mean I am in total charge with no pretenders around?

'tis a good day.

A day to be merry.

I call it "Admin day".

Salaam,

Congratulations. This is truly a gift from Allah. May he serve Allah well and make you happier as each day goes by. May he not grow up and be like his uncle mmm. MashaAllah he is in good health and may he stay like that.

If your still having trouble naming him i'll help.

mmm

He who sacrifices his conscience to ambition, burns a picture to obtain the ashes!

Go on, stick some names in here.

I will suggest the truly awful ones to him.

He almost got angry when I made my first suggestion.

wat does Zaki mean?

To be beautiful is to expect nothing in return.

I still find it difficult to get my head round the thought of Saj being a daddy Biggrin

He'll be on a level, thats for sure.

My fav boys names..

Ahmad
Adam
Ali
Sulman
Dawud
Daniel
Raiyaan (sp?)
Yusuf

Zaki is nice too...

Congrats again bro (for all those who missed it i did tell you all on the no topic thread... but didnt want to start a new thread as i thought that honour shud lie with the Ed himself).
Saj i've been meaning to pop round but been busy bro... maybe sometime over the weekend.

My advice is burp the kid after every feeding or he'll get fussy. Learn how to hold him (you'd be surprised the number of people who dont know how to hold a baby) and rock him to sleep... maybe hum a lullaby... lol. Make sure he gets to take regular naps after feeding and dont keep him up after 8.

Possible names: Aman, Sajid Junr, Sajid 2.0, Salahdin (Sal for short), Rehan, Aryan, Zeeshan, Zain-Bin-Abadeen.

Back in BLACK

One cant help but wonder at the Admins statements, kind of confusing, but unspoken heard. Lol

Any wayzzzzz Allaaah has blessed you with a Baby, may you find a beautiful name for the baby, may suggestions be benificial and Islamic. Watch out for unislamic suggestions and believe me it happens, especially within subcontinent comminities.

Jazakhallah for your kind words...

i will register the name tomorrow..
i wanted Jamal:-) but my wife hates it, or i wanted Gibreel, Mekaeel. But she wants either hasan, hadeed or shaheeb

but we have come to a compromise: Raihaan

what do you think?

every moment with baby is special ...but tiring, no sleep....but all worth it.

he's gonna have his hair cut on Monday....

picking up the baby is anew experience..i actually had a phobia of new born babies...thinking im gonna drop it!

babies are also expensive... but al hamdulilah..alll worth it...

at the mo...dont get much time for revival or anything else:-)

Not good.

Bad idea. Defeatist name.

Pious lady gave some nice suggestions.

Suleman, Daniel, Yusuf, Nasrullah, Aaron, Jacob, Ali, Gabriel, Micheal,
Abbas, Hassan, David, Peter, Jafar, Mohammed, Jamal, Kamal.

Yeah Raihan sounds ok.

Better than Jamaal.

For names it is best to use a base-26 system with a unique method of interaction.

A+A = AA

Far easier than hex or binary.

Or 'Ed could name the kid 1337. what a beautiful number.

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

1337 ?

Why not 666.

Damien sounds nice.

1337 is the name of an online multiplayer hacker..

i used to use one of his trainers(hack scripts) for gunz online.

google "1337 private trainer" and see what u find. i warn u its an addictive game.

Congratulations again Ed. May Allah (swt) bless your little family.

I think Raihaan is a beautiful name.
