Girls of the Ummah

You got a scarf on your head
But jeans that stick to your skin
Your stomach is revealed
You're into the SIN
When asked what you are
Your culture you name
Muslim don't cross your tongue
What a pity what a shame!
You take pride in the tops
That reveals your back
Cleavage not an issue
It's with the pack
Now it's fashion to wear the scarf
In the way you do
Julia Stiles did it in save the last dance
Now you should too!
Your hair it is styled
With the gel and the mouse
You got the hip hugging jeans
With the matching shoes
You wake up at dawn
To apply your face
So guys can pick you up
What a disgrace!
You infuriated girl
Hit the road of the west
Your born in the truth
But you observe the rest
You do the dating scene
And the kissing guys
You think they're the world
Open your eyes
Encouraging Muslim boys
To do the same?
But it's all-good,
With the Muslim name
At least he is Muslim
That's what your friends say
Encouraging a ummati
In the same way
Your life revolves around him
Your heart it does the dance
Pitiful are you
Within haram romance
DON'T YOU SEE...
Life doesn't travel
Farther than the grave
It'll pass you faster
If the world you crave
You think your getting educated
When you hit the school
But they're playing you like puppets
You're the fool
And those who do fear god
Those whom you tease
When you toss in the flames
They'll cool in the breeze
Don't you love the prophet?
Who was stoned for you?
Whose last words were for us?
Who came with the truth
The mothers of believer
Who cast their gaze down?
The best of the women
Upon you they would frown
Disgusting girl have some shame within you
While they cast their gaze down, you stare right through
While they feared Allah, the alone the True
You think the only problem is if people see you
What would my parents say, will I be allowed out again
Society will gossip, it'll be the end
But little do you assume about the end that is near
And if only your death and Allah you fear
But you know the truth, there's only so much I can say
And the guilt only lasts before you go back to the way
So before you turn back and to parties you attend
There is one small thing I do recommend
No matter where you go and what you decide to do
Just remember that Allah is always around you
Fear him more than being "caught" fear him there
And when you start to realize, then you'll start to care
And the rest of the girls will disgust you true
If it worked for me it can work for you
Taste the sweetness of the veil and cover up well
And make the hereafter your eternity in Jannah you'll dwell
So take off the shamelessness, throw off the nudity
Be a Muslimah stand proud most of all as an ummati!

No1 cud catch me.
No1 can hurt me.
I am teh real deal.
I say wot I know.
I won't desert u.
U can desert me.
I know how u feel.
No one can miss me.
I can b silent.
I can b loud.
I am free.
Try 2 offend me.
Try 2 unhinge me.
I will stan proud.
Lol.
Spread lyk a tree.
I am teh sista.
I am me,
I am a sista on a mission
Lyk Mother Theresa
But not famous
Yet. I am not finished
Yet. I'm gonna study
An study an teach
An if u say I shud not stand up an preach
I'm gonna show u wot u ave been missin
The whole tym dat u ave bin cussin an dissin
An fightin an killin and spittin an hissin.
Dat isn't a deen, it's a sentence in prison.
I know how u feel.
I know how u feel.
I know how u feel.
I am teh real deal.
Dis sista can heal becuz
I c ur pain
I c ur pain
An I am teh love
An I am teh rain
2 drown an banish all teh miserable feelins
Dat corrode teh soul
An kill all teh good
Dat get in teh heart
An make it impure
4 I am lyk Mother Theresa
Makin u whole
I hav teh cure
An I'm gonna study an make myself famous
Gonna b writ big like Heaney O' Seamus
3xcept eveybody's gonna understan
Becuz I am teh sista who only talks sense
An no1can catch me
An no1 will hurt me
An I won't desert u
An u can desert me
An I will stand proud
An grow up lyk a tree
Wid my roots gettin deeper
Cuz dat's what a tree does
An no1 will say dat I'm a l8 sleeper
Cuz I am free.
An dat is wot I'm gonna teach.
The truth makes u free c.
U wuz tokin rubbish
An so wuz I
One tym
But I crept up a lil happier.
I hav a sista
An she is quite cool 2.

Ya Rab meri sowi huwi taqdeer jaga deh....Aankhein mujeh dee hai tho Madinah bhi dikha deh Ameen
Very good Poem Sis. But the above was just beautiful. May Allah (swt) bless you Sister. Ameen
I want to become a better Muslim by following the Prophet's (pbuh) sunna. I wish to further my knowledge on Islam and put it into practice in my daily life. And if I can be of any help/guidence then always willing to oblige.
Ace, that is all I can ask for.
(Where did all the smilies go?!)
I feel I'm gonna move on back down south

Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.
It is a poem I promised to write for LilSis a few months ago. Then I kept trying to write something but it wasn't quite right. I sent her this by PM yesterday which was when I wrote something that I was happy with and I'm happy it made LilSis smile.

tex, is there ever a time that you dont fight with anyone, well not fight but argue
...live everyday as your last day...

Special request:
You can criticise my poetry but try not to use this against LilSis. It is a lighthearted and warm tribute.
I don't think it's about double standards - just being cool. A lot of LilSis' remarks to you aren't very friendly but some people have a longer memory than me. IMHO you should stick to being insightful and friendly and standing for what is decent. Perhaps imagine you are talking to your sister after a series of jokey tiffs.

IMHo- in my holy opinion?
Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.
