The chicoms repress all religion unless it is officially controlled by the state, there are Muslims toward the western provinces who are treated roughly as well as the Buddhists and Christians.

Which is not very well, I don't really know the specifics. As for comparison to the Palestinians? The Palestinians are not treated well but are hardly the most pressing humanitarian crisis in the Muslim world, that distinction belongs (in my opinion) to the people of Darfur or the people of Chechnya who we will be talking about in history books roughly 5 years from now.

But nobody cares about Africa, I sometimes wonder if its called the dark continent because nobody sees it. And after 9/11 and Beslan very few people seem interested in helping Chechnyans, I don't know if the official US policy on Chechnya has changed but it certainly is inactive.

And Europe cured racism and oppression so they have no problems, Chechnya is in Europe, ergo it cannot be a problem - simply logic as far as they are concerned.

[quote="TEX"]thankyou dave

I have absolutely no idea. Lots of both - it really depends on what country you are talking about, Ethiopia for example is a Holy Land for some Christians - especially Axum, and was ruled by the longest lasting Christian dynasty in history.

Morocco Algeria and parts of Tunisia were all part of the Berber kingdoms that invaded Europe and so have very historic Islamic ties and remain so today.

South Africa has seen Christian invaders, and Islamic traders all imposed upon its animist and traditional religious roots.

But even regionally Africa is always in transition... and censi are hard to take given the political climate. I don't know if anybody could give you a fully accurate figure...

Christian Children's Fund, Doctors Without Borders and the Red Cross are all pretty prominent charities that work in Africa among other locations.

When I was last out in Hong Kong I met a muslim brother at the company I was doing work for. He came with me on a visit to China where he introduced me to a few more brothers. They all seemed quiet about talking about the topic and said that they cannot talk generally about the subject of Islam etc etc. I did not meet any sisters.
