Hopefully its the first steps to an Islamic union, where leaders of different schools of thought can sit and talk.
sit and talk?

do you really think that they will just "sit and talk"?

man this show is gonna be so humiliating
y not? i think if its organised well it will be good. i doubt they'll be throwing fists about.

I think its about time people took the initiative to bring different schools of thought together.

It all comes down to the topics picked.. and the intro to the programmes which will set ground rules.. no shouting, no calling of names.

If they start discussing things which all have in common, trust, im confident ALL schools of thought share at least 95% of their beliefs.. then their differences are watered down imo.

I think it will be good. Just because there is islam channel, channel s, mta, the GOD channel.. don't mean there shouldn't be another. Flcik over to 501 and go up channels.. see how many News channels there are.. or start from 999 backwards.. see how many of those channels there are.. (if that sorta stuff interests you)..

personally I don't think there are enough channels on Islam,.. Unity channel definatly got my thumbs up.

Well maybe the aim of the channel is to do the opposite of the others, ther must have been a valid reason for opening the channel and having a certain objective to achieve outtoff it.

can you imagine how cool it would be to have 40 more islamic channels? 😛

we'll end up beating the zionists when it comes to media control :P
hahahahaha

i agree with 'khan' on what he says about Ihtihad tv.

does anyone remember a channel callded 'Al Majd?' .... in english? IT WAS THE BEST ISLAMIC CHANNEL THERE EVER WAS OR WILL BE.....!!!

whats with all these channels having comps in RAMADHAN for the best shows though? Seriously what is up with that? do they not realise the significance of islam or sumin...that we only have one month to try to attain all the extra blessings and another 11 to watch all their 'special' shows? :x

For the people who watch Islam channel, do you know if the scholars are sunni/shia?

Coz a sister phoned up and wanted an answer regarding makeup prayers. The scholar said that if someone missed several years of prayers, they should make tauba and their sins will be forgiven. But the position of all four sunni schools is that all missed prayers must be made up.

Which scholar said that???

MuslimBro — Sat, 30 Sep 2006 - 23:41

I don't know his name.

The scholar was on the repeat programme called IslamiQA, sometime between 2-2:30pm as I remember watching it after coming home from jumma prayers.

How did he look?

Actually there are alot of new Sheikhs on that show now, the only 2 i know are Shaykh Abu Hanafi and Dr Khalid Khan and im pretty sure they are not Shia Muslims.

All I can remember is that he has a white beard.

I'm going to try and watch IslamiQA when he's on and will InshaAllah let you know his name.

Are u talking about the American revert??? Cz he is the only one with a white beard..

Well i thinkso anyway...

Different Shias believe in different stuff, not all of them have the same aqeeda. Some are completely different from other Shia muslims.

Any1 been watching the Unity Channel??? Its on air now wid programs running..

It seems a lil dead at the mo, but im sure it'll get kicking soon..

Noor — Fri, 6 Oct 2006 - 20:37

Wow.. Unity Channel is so inspiring! Subhanallaah...

They've had 3 brothers in, talking about their experiences and how they Allahmdulliah came to the deen of Allah.

Any1 been watching it?? What do ya think about the stories??

The main aim of it is to give non-muslims the real insight of Islaam and to bring muslims onto the straight path and to bring back Unity within the Ummah.
