okay...

won't tell

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

Has anyone ever had recurring dreams or nightmares?

For some time now ive dreamt about some big catastrophe. It usually starts with me walking along a street. Then all at once day turns into night, the wind picks up as if i were in the middle of a storm. The night sky is torn apart and a gigantic 'hole' appears in the sky, after which it rains fire and the hole begins to suck things into it... as it does it expands... tornado's form and start destroying things .... i run but i know im being chased by someone/something... then i awake.

The dream always freaks me out... kinda apocolytic 'end of the world' type of thing.

Back in BLACK

The dream is telling you that your life has a massive void in it.

To fix the problem donate 1 million pounds in non sequential npotes to Admin, and all will be well.

Being a bit less serious, I would say its a probably sign of anxiety.

You probably feel inadequate, or feel scared of something.

Or I may be wrong.

I aint seen that, so I kept it out of my 'expert' analysis.

(I refuse to watch it.)

since im the 'wanabe psychologyst' ill be the dream interpreter

apocalyptic /end of the world dreams are quite commen and in psychological terms it signifies an emotional and dramatic change taken place within. The dream may also indicate the end of one kind of lifestyle and the beginning of another.

however you are being chased as well, chase dreams are extremely common , Chase dreams often stem from feelings of anxiety , or your avoiding something,The pursuer or attacker who is chasing you in your dream may also represent a part of yourself.

so by combining both elements i predict you have undergone some sort of change (physical or psychological) and this is causing you anxiety , therefore you are avoiding something. To stop this dream reocurring you have to identify the anxiety ,Next time you have the dream, turn around and confront your pursuer. Ask them why they are chasing you.

Or dust could be right and did you watch day after tomorrow or end of days or somethings and got freaked out in which case stop wacthing these movies you little wimp Lol

seriously seraph give me some feedback

That sounds awful like a horoscope! '2day something may change your life for ever'

And you can only react in a dream if you know you are dreaming. That is not always the case.

And there are a few psychologists, wannabe or otherwise on here.

And also Ex-psychologists Blum 3 ( you can now crack any jokes u want bout them haha and i'll join in!)

Dreams are not always reflecting our state but at times they do and at times they mean nothing.

psychological explanation ;- the judgement day part signifies an emotional and dramatic change taken place within. The dream may also indicate the end of one kind of lifestyle and the beginning of another. the make up putting part signifies that you are trying to cover up or conceal a hidden aspect of yourself.

what are you getting ready for?

maybe by putting on make up you are concealing or putting away all your badness and judgement day signifies that your changing to goodness, and your cousins are with you as you prepare (getting ready) for the new you.

or you could be concealing your goodness by putting on make up and getting ready for badness or something and judgement day represents that change

angel any resemblence :?: feedback please Smile

That sounds awfully like your diagnosis of Seraph's dream!

(as a budding psychiatrist I would advise you to have a few diferent diagnoses available. And do not make them sound like horoscopes.)

I would say the second one reflects inner calm and not fear of being judged by others.

It could also signify vanity. (judgement day is on its way, and you wanna look good for your death?)

admin its not a horoscope dream analysis can be used to identify and solve many problems , dreams are basically your own thoughts and imagination being played by your sub-concious they can give you many insights.

according to Sigment Freuds psychodynamic theory , we have unresolved conflicts in our subconcious , by looking at dreams we can interpret these conflicts and to help sovle any problems, fear and phobias we may have.

Psychologists will tell you that Freud invented dream analysis but they would be wrong like there wrong about who discovered the world was round, the first dream analysis was conducted by muslims many hundreds of years before westerners even knew what a dream was

Dreams are broken into three parts according to the Sunnah:

Ru'yaa - good visions (dreams)

Hulum - bad dreams

Dreams from one's self

Abu Hurayrah narrated Muhammad (S) said, "There are three types of dreams: a righteous dream which is glad tidings from Allah, the dream which causes sadness is from Shaitan, and a dream from the ramblings of the mind." (Sahih Muslim)

are there any psychologists in the forum :?: , do say Blum 3

sugmund freud? well he did say other things aswell...

The thing about psychology and psociology is that any position can be defended, as its all about opinion, and the twisting of fact.

I can talk psychology all day, as its an amusing subject. It always puts psychologistson a back foot.

Afterall in its current incarnation its not a real science.

i dont know how they are sounding like horoscopes , exactly where do i predict the future :? :?:

I have alot of diagnosises i have 3 dream analysis books which ive read, one of them giving an islamic interpretation of dreams, also just because my interpretation is different to yours doesnt mean im wrong, i cant say your interpretation is wrong, only the person whos dream it is can say it, I could say your explanation was very basic and could be used to interpret anything and everything but i should not unless im a expert.

admin why would anyone want to look good for death Lol Lol Lol

thats the wierdest interpretation of a dream ive read Biggrin Blum 3 Biggrin Lol

judgement day is not in its own because we have seen two dreams of judgement they and they both incorporate diffrent element in it, so we have to add those elements to be accurate.

sugmund freud? well he did say other things aswell alot of it was crap but some of it was revolutionary for the time

being a fellow psychologist i wonder what makes you so negative of it :?:

psychology is the science of behaviour, psychologist can make a real diffrence in the world, look at psychological illness, in which you cannot deny if it wasnt for psychology , they will still be burning people on the stake in england and beating people to get the jinn out of them in africa , when they suffered from a disability, theres alot to be learned, its a wonderful science and a very young science.

I NEVER WORE IT BECAUSE OF THE TALIBAN, MOTHER. I LIKE THE MODESTY AND PROTECTION IT AFFORDS ME FROM THE EYES OF MEN.

lol, no i only recently watched 'The Day After Tomorrow' which is why i freaked a little when it started snowing really badly... but only a little. Ive been having that dream for years.

Its possible it may signify some sort of change... but like Admin said we rarely know we are dreaming.

Back in BLACK

i had a dream where sum1 from college got stabbed from sum1 from uni

:?

but then again, none of my dreams are normal lol

The Lover is ever drunk with love;
He is free, he is mad,
He dances with ecstasy and delight.

Caught by our own thoughts,
We worry about every little thing,
But once we get drunk on that love,
Whatever will be, will be.

Its the concept of it all.

I also refuse to watch 24 for the same reason.

They pretend to be real, and then try to predict human behaviour. Well, its fictional, and the 'human behaviour' is thus also fictional. I find it too insulting to my intelligence.

(I was shocked that I liked crash last year, as it does all of the above, which I hate. But it was pretty good.)

Nas786, its the bit that goes 'there will be a dramatic change in your life' that sounds like a horroscope.

In truth we cannot predict dreams. the same dream in diferent circumstances can have a diferent meaning. One meaning could be good, the other bad. and both meanings could be correct. Its the fact that people pretend to have a full understanding of all this which I do not like. Its pretentious.

And she did say it was judgement day, and she was putting makeup on. what better sign for vanity?

apparently if you have a dream after you have just read namaaz, it comes true?

i really hope this is not true!

because if it is, there are some bad things to come

sometimes it just seems as if you dream everything you've been thinking about during the day, but it's the random dreams that have no relavance to your life that really freak you out!

 i never once said this, its a frigment of your imagionation admin :? , what i said was psychological terms it signifies an emotional and dramatic change taken place within. theres a big difference between the two statements

you should listen to your own comments then, this is exactly the point i was making, if both meaning and differnet interpretations could be correct, why did you state mines are bad :?

this could be true but make up e.g. foundation , is hiding something , you are disguising your face =therefore it can also mean concealing something

you take me too seriously.

when I say something take it with a pinch of salt.

this is very true, dreams are just your imagination running wild, and its not true that your dreams will come true if you have them after namaz,

if you want to avoid scary dreams , dont have heavy meals before you sleep, and dont have any diary products e.g. milk , cheese , before you sleep.

Is it true when you sleep your soul leaves your body :?: , someone very knowledgable and islamic told me that , maybe thats why we should do a dua before and after we sleep

is there a rationale behind this?

(yoghurt settles the stomach...so I would have thought it wuld be a good thing to eat.)

Is it that in these cases you have a deep sleep?

either way I cannot se how this stops 'scary' dreams.

not even a rocket scientist can interpret your response, its too ambigous :? ,

anyhow good luck on your change and hope you keep to it Wink , if you dont know what im on about my dream analysis was completly wrong

either way some people are too wierd to be analysed

yeh a nutritionist told me it puts you in a deep sleep and makes your imagination run wild, cant remember why scientifically, ill ask the person the next time i see them

but a The physiological theory (which many scientist/doctors agree with)centers upon how our body, specifically our brains, function during the REM phase of sleep(this is the deep sleep). Proponents of this theory believe that we dream to exercise the synapses, or pathways, between brain cells, and that dreaming takes over where the active and awake brain leaves off.

where as psychologists believe dreams focus upon our thoughts and emotions, and speculate that dreams deal with immediate concerns in our lives, such as unfinished business from the day, or concerns we are incapable of handling during the course of the day. Dreams can, in fact, teach us things about ourselves that we are unaware of.

Islamically if anyone has a bad dream (hulam), when you awake , say 'ouzabilla mina shaitan nir-rah jeem' (translates- i seek shelter with allah from the rejected shaitan) three times and spit over your left shoulder , because the devil caused the evil thoughts.
