Bad Hijaab Days

today i realised that many girls spend almost as much time on their hijaabs as they do with their hair

went to Green Street with my sister today and we went to POSHAK MAHAL the most famous hijaab shop in whole of UK 8)

spend ages checking out the scarfs-prices started at £2 and went up to £50

the amount of choice was phenominal-

after woulds we got some pretty hijaab pins-only a few years ago pretty hijaab pins didnt even exist

my sister stood in front of at least 4 mirrors today-trying to fix her hijaab up

sumtims in a rush when the hijaab is not put on properly-they whole day feels awkward and messy-sort of like a bad hijaab day

also-under five years ago-it was rare to see a hijaabi-its a lot more common now

almost ALL of the Muslim "pretty fashionable" girls from my year 11 cover their hair now which they didnt when we were in school :shock:

girls dont even see an issue with dating with their hijaab

is the hijaab losing its impact? is it all about "doing ur hijaab" now instead of "doing ur hair"

The way I see it it;s two separate issues.

Wearing hijab does not mean you are a good muslim. However it does mean that you are covering ONE ASPECT of your duties.

We are all flawed. Why is everyone jumping on those who can do a bit but not alot? We are by no means perfect.

You are expecting everyone wearing hijab to be a saint.

It's not easy for everyone.

Im not saying that every1 hu wears a hijaab is a saint or has to be.

Im just saying "sum" sisters dont have the rite intentions when they preserve the hijaab.

Of course it dsnt mean ur the best muslim if u wear a hijaab, ur just fulfiling a basic fardh.

And i never said its easy for every1.

i don't expect everyone wearing a hijab to be a saint. my post was as much a reminder to myself as anyone else, hence the 'we'. but the point i was trying to make, and no offence Admin but i think only girls would understand this, is that the islamic reasoning behind wearing hijab is modesty and though this is the intention most of us have when we wear it for the first time, our idea of hijab can change over time and it can be reduced to just a cloth, and that's when the purpose of hijab is no longer fulfilled.

donning a headscarf isn't as straightforward as just putting a peice of cloth on one's head, it involves an entire personality change when in public.

exactly thats wat most sisters need to be aware of wen the hijab comes on its not for modesty on teh outside bt for the inside aswell. yeh i gt to admit altho i wear teh hijab and jibab i smtime can't control myself in skool i go wild wen i hyped up and i hate to say it bt thats me. by teh grace of Allah swt i learnt a lot more about how a women should present herself. inshallah know in 6 form i na take my studies more seriously and more importantly myself yeh i still na have a laugh bt in a more Appropriate mean.

in my skool most hijabies are very ncie girls they are very friendly to everyone always their for u and at teh same time bubbly and up for a laugh![/color]
