Who's ur role model from the past?

i was gna do a poll for this but the list might be endless so, il just do a topic. Who does everyone look up to,whose actions and behaviour really inspired u.no-one can choose the Prophet PBUH coz we follow his sunnah anways,so other than the Prophet PBUH who is ur favourite role model?[/color]

il go first mine is Khadjah the first wife of the Prophet PBUH, why because firstly she was there with the prophet PBUH from day 1 after the revelation from Angel Jibraeel she believed him,while ppl we mocking him she was there,overall i fink she is everythng a muslimah shud be a great mother,wife and a damn good business woman too

i also love bilal look at hw his status changd when coming to islam,he was a slave the "lowest of the low"at that time,look how is owner treated him,crushed between that huge stone,yet he still stayed strong,n he was the first to call to prayer,like he couldve given up his islam,but knw he didnt compromise his belief n look where it got him,i thnk him coming to islam deffo shud that there is no superior race in islam

there are so many more,like khalod bin al-walid umar ibn khattab n hamza the uncle of the Prophet PBUH, their acceptance of islam was great for the ppl of the time also it shwed hw one of the most feared enemies of the Prophet PBUH could s the light of islam[/color]

My Role models....

Well i think Exquisite has mentioned them already, Khadija Radiallahu anha, Bilal Radiallahu anhu and for the same reasons as Exquisite mentioned.

Hamza Radiallahu anhu, he was a warrior, Soldier of Allah!

Omar Zaqi Asif, my 12 year old little cuzin hu is no longer with us today. May Allah grant him Jannah. He was such an inspiration to us all, he was the most kind, caring, loving person i've ever known. He loved to give charity and get involved in all islamic events, he lived his life to the Deen as closest as he could. He taught us so much in a short period of time, never to take advantage of time, it can be over for you anytime, live Islam by your best and Inshallah your creator will be happy with you.

And finally, Our beloved teacher, Shaykh ul Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri, if it wasnt for this man i wudnt be who i am today. Allahamdulliah he gave me the biggest boost ever and ragged me closer to the Deen. MashAllah he is such an inspiration in everything, his manners, his knowledge, the wisdom he has and the love he has for the ummah.
May Allah bless our beloved teacher and grant him a long life.

Your so right sis, it makes us think.., what have we done for this Ummah? what have we sacrificed for the ummah, what have we done to bring back the Deen of Allah SubhanuWatallah. We have so many role models, so many inspirations, we have know excuse, wer just too lazy! we need to be more active as Muslims and bring the honour of this deen back!

Rabia Basri (ra).

One of the greatest Sufi women in Islam. She stressed the importance of
worshipping the Beloved (swt) for the sake of the Beloved....not out of desire for heaven or fear of hell.

She often spoke about her wish to extinguish hell and burn Paradise so that people would worship Allah (swt) only to gain His pleasure....

Please don't put words in my mouth...all I'm saying is that, according to research men take up to twice as long as women to admit to being lost and asking directions.

Thats why women find their way home quicker. Its an ego thing. One can't go home unless they get rid of their ego.

My role model has always been Hazrat Fatima-tul-Zahara (ra), her patience to bear so much at such a young age and to go through it with such faith has always amazed me, no matter how much one praises her it is not enough. Also giving birth to and raising such amazing personalities such as Imam Hussain (ra) and Imam Hassan (ra) is defo a lesson for all mothers.

Gotta say I have not been this excited about football til I saw him score his tap in.

He's probably the best super sub ever. And he is not even in form! (he missed one, and with the one he scored, it was clean through, but not his usual clinical finish.)
