Ramadan 2006

Sirus

Salaam

The month of Ramadan isnt far off now.....over a month i believe. Whom amongst you have been yearning for this month to arrive?

So, are you excited about Ramadan?

How is it going to be different from last Ramadan....what will you do differently, and in what ways will you try to improve?

Do you manage to keep all fasts? Do you find it easy, or hard?

I personally love the feeling of excitement when the month has started.

How much do you eat in this month compared to other months? you scoff yourself at Iftaari time? Who's going to be cooking....and do you enjoy it?!

do you feel spiritually better off in this month, and how would you carry it on thru the rest of the year?

Who goes all taravih's? :o

or is it a normal month for you, or anything you dislike?

share all thoughts and views and stories, and anything to do with the Month of Ramadan

is it from islamic relief, with a penny box??? i got one!!!

yashmaki — Mon, 9 Oct 2006 - 20:21

Assalamu Alaikum,

it's determined by the country closest to them in which night and day can be distinguished clearly by the sun and the moon. So the prayer times and fast times should be taken from that particular country and applied to their own country. Even if the ppl in these communities have very little modern technology there will be at least one phone in the local city/village, this can be used to obtain the timetables for fasting and prayers.

lucky thing! i have a short message behind each flap. says things 'give a penny to the poor' or 'invite your friends over for iftaar'. it's so cool to open a flap and read the message!!! and i got a penny box too. last year i gave the right answer to the competition and i got a certificate and a fan!!!

this years ramadan is going bare fast man, n the fasts are really easy to keep, attending tarwih prayers have been the most over-whelming experience ever, and our family's healthy lifestyle is on track
