other then the Revival which of course is the best magazine in the world
what else do u guys like reading?
i spend a lot of money on Asian Woman/Asiana and most girly fashion magazines such as sugar, bliss etc
sometimes I'll buy "Hello" to see what the celebs are up to or will buy some cheap 60p magazine which features real life accounts which I read on long bus rides
i don't buy or read newspapers EXCEPT for "Eastern eye"
what mag/paper do u guys reg buy
When I was going uni I used to buy atloeast one paper a day. Plus a magazine (techy stuff... too many out there and I would cycle through them all as the problem with a monthly publication is that its monthly...). and also used to scan the news channels on sky. ALso get newsweek when I thought it was interesting enough.
Now I can just about manage to look at the bbc news website. Just a quick glance.
"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.
which paper?
dad used to reg buy the Mcintosh magazine when we had that computer years back
paper? I said atleast one.
I would regularly get the mirror. When it went for real news for a bit. You know when it had the black top, and changed the name to daily mirror.
and also a 'compact' paper. I still cannot read broadsheets. The compact broadsheets were a genius idea, but I was getting out of the phase where I wanted to know what was going on around the world.
Currently I am in the ignorance is bliss world.

i dnt spend my muny on stuff like that, i cnt affrd it! them magzine get more expensive by the day! and im not really into all the hello, ok magazine stuff!
i fork out £4.50 on Asian woman AND £4.50 on Asiana mag which then others read for free
its daylight robbery
maybe if i was more careful with my money this'd bother me
£4.50! i wud nevr spend that much on a mag! im very tite wid my muny, dnt spend it on wastefull stuff apart from foood
I went to buy Asian Woman magazine from WHsmith the other day….I usually buy it to check out the latest fashion but it also has really interesting articles in it too…in the past it has covered adoption, domestic violence and once did a really interesting documentary piece on some tribal matriarchal society in the East.
However, this summer issue was so lame…the titles in the front cover were “How to tell if he’s cheating on you”….”How to make him fall in love with you”…and some interview by some bollywood star…. So I brought this “psychology magazine” instead….it was really interesting, much of what is “proven” by psychologists is stuff that I know already and its really weird how much of its “findings” match Sufi teachings….I may buy this magazine regularly now.
I know I should be buying the Education Times Supplement on a regular basis….but broadsheets really bore me; from time to time I do buy the Daily Mail….I used to buy Eastern Eye regularly, but not anymore since it mainly focuses on Bollywood stuff… I always pick up the Metro when on trains...
Magzines are very expensive. There're loads of Islamic magazines avalailable in shops too such as Emel, Islamica..
I sometimes read The Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph, The Sunday Times or the Guardian. Occasionally I might buy Private Eye or something puerile like Viz or FHM. I often read other papers if they're left on a tube including Metro, The Evening Standard, The Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, The Independent, The Sun - all mostly terrible - and various ethnic papers that can happen to be there, although I don't take them home. Bit unhygeinic but useful all the same. At weekends at my parents there are lots of books and magazines lying around so I might flick through them also, including The Jewish Chronicle (JC) and the distinctly inferior Jewish Telegraph and various women's and local glossies.
I feel I'm gonna move on back down south
you know where the water tastes like cherry wine
i sometimes buy EMEL magazines,
other than that i like m free newspapers such as:
the metro
the muslim weekly
Muslim News
East End life
i used to but the Daily mirror before but its a load of rubbish now just gossip
O you who believe, If you help (in the cause of) Allah, He will help you, and make your foothold firm {Surah Muhammad7}
Same ere except for the muslim news.
The Zoo.
This is gonna make me sound boring but i get the "Independent" newspaper in the wkend, and i'm subscribed to the "National Geographic", some excellent articles in there.
Years ago i'd get "Marie Claire" or "Vogue", been called a snob for that. Well hey it's better than getting some gossip mag like "Hello" isn't it? ..let me kid myself a little, (Sorry lilsis!) Who cares what posh spice is wearing and what boy friend Jlo has.
If there was a family wedding i'd occasionally get Asian Woman magazine. But like MS said nowdays it's kinder gone downhill. The articles lack depth. Most the mag is filled with images and articles without substance that just mimic mainstream trashy teen mags. It's like they have lost a unique vision for their magazine.
I don't get the above no more because i think they're too pricy specially Asian woman mag what's with that..nearly 5 quid it's certainly not gold dust. I don't need their fashion advice for that price lol.
Plus now that i've grown up a little i can see they're a waste of money. I think National Geo is excellent though you guys should try it I'm trying a year free lol. I think i'll pay for it after that.
I don't know of any good Islamic mags you know any? I've read Riyadul Jannah (think that's the name) once my bro got it free after some conference in Leicester, it's published by the students of an islamic institute of the same name. It had some pretty good stuff in there.
I've tried Emel before..i don't think I like it. There's one called Q news or something? That has some pretty good articles last i saw of it.
The Revival goes without saying, i've not seen any other muslim mag aimed at the youth, keep up the good work!. If the void was filled perhaps muslim teens wouldn't be reading rubbish like Sugar, which tell them 100 ways on how to lose their chastity or acquire contraception
Question would you let your child read such mags? Nevermind you reading them your own kid is a different matter.
I'd have to go through the mag first any tear out any distasteful articles, some are way x rated for the age groups they're supposedly aimed at.

On the off chance that I do buy a paper it's either Guardian or Independent.
I subscribe to Emel and Private Eye.
I might start getting Q News soon. Ooh, and I like the look of Zaytuna Institute's Seasons.
Like Yashmaki, I read The Independent on weekdays.
Sometimes The Guardian.
I read The Observer on Sundays, and sometimes take the Sunday Mail to marvel at the bigoted nonsense spouted by Peter Hitchens and other idiots.
I also subscribe to the BBC History monthly magazine.
Online, I view the BBC news and Dnevni avaz and Dani for news from back home.
I forgot to say in my last post, yes Time is a load of rubbish. Not worth the paper it's written on. That's why you can get 10 for a penny.
:? :? :? :? :?

Pakistan's going up in the world you know.
The closest to that description from the mainstream British press would be the Telegraph. But it's still full of racists and toffs.
On the other hand you can get loads of weekly or monthly journals with lots of big words about not very much.
What about The Independent??
Thats pretty .... boring...
and has long words... like 'the'...

Here is a short interesting mag about sufism that i found,
www.thelightmagazine.com
"Purity is half of faith.......Prayer is the light...patience is illumination; and the Quran is an argument for or against you. Everyone starts his day and is a vendor of his soul, either freeing it or bringing about its ruin." Muslim

Any wife I find whilst out "chilling" is hardly likely to be decent is she?
Besides, there's only so much chilling to be done given the extreme heat followed by the extreme rain.
Will be going Islamabad tommorow. Gonna get a good tour. My uncle wants to prove to me Pakistan isn't that bad.
Going to be back in just over a week.
Where the hell are u going to be exactly "chilling"
In an air-conditioned room maybe :?
