have you guys heard of beatle nut or phaan? its called "goowa" in bengali i fink thats hw you spell it and its a major thng in benglali weddings called sinni phaan, iv seen alot of bengalis chew the stuff n coming out wiv red gobs n lips , i myself love it, its a bit like chewing wood, but if you add stuff like rose powder n limestone (chuna) it tastes lovely

i get told off by my friends cuz i chew it every morning on my way to 6th form n i dont knw i fink im addictd to it

just wondering whats the ruling on it?is it haram?or can i still chew the thng[/color]

I had paan at school once - tombaco paan 8) .

And with that one you have to spit out quite regulalry innit - so was walking over to classbin and spitting the red stuff in there. Lol - the whites were wondering what drugs Im taking - sold 2 75p paans for 2 pound 50 each :twisted: . dumb english.

And one of my mates bought naswar from back home and sold it for abt a 5er to a druggie in his college - hahahaha.

Btw can get naswar over here aswell now - just saw it in local shop today 8)

i didnt get conned. I bought the paan ready made with all the masalah and tombacco put in it - not just the leaf. And obviously it is more expensive having it like that then making it yrself but i dnt have it regular.
