Thanks Ed, I received issue 5 mwah! πŸ˜‰

Ali & Jamal are good as always (the endings brilliant!)
FUnny story about that... :D
What, can you do the curry out of the nose trick then πŸ˜›

Admin you say no excuses not to leave feedback but I don't see you leaving any feedback...unless you haven't read issue 5 yet (which is very unlikely)

Btw there should be a matrimonial section in the magazine as it's time for some people to get married *coughbeastcough* *coughadmincough*

Is that thing down the middle of the Ali and Jamaal page supposed to say "and"?

Cos I really can't make it out. I've tried turning it upside down and squinting my eyes but no luck.
Who cares get over it, it's just a wee fancy pattern or rubbish pattern for that matter
Beast does!! The poor old thing can't go to sleep without knowing the answer.

Beast β€” Sun, 16 Jul 2006 - 22:13

The fact that this was a World Cup issue yet it came out after the World Cup is a point that can be raised.

Better streamlining of the production process would absolve us of this prob. Back-up articles need to be in place in cases where it appears the deadline will not be met.
feedback for issue 6 has been poor on the forum so far....

come on ppl, let us what you made of it!
Issue 6! :?

I only read issue 5...and didn't you publish issue 5 just a few weeks ago. When I said to publish the next issue quickly, I didn't mean that quickly.

Or was that a typing error?
Whilst my name is not Dawud Patel, I have managed to get hold of the orignal ending to that article:
Ali: Whoa that’s tight. I'z gonna give that some proper heavy thought.
Jamaal: Really? You’ll actually consider getting married.
Ali: Well I'm not saying I want to get married right now, but I don't think I'll be saying 'no' forever.
Jamaal: That’s encouraging to hear; by the way I love you too.
Ali: Yeah is that the time, already... [Raises his sleeve and looks at his wrist]
Jamaal: You're not wearing a watch, you're just looking at your skin-
Ali: yeah but, the skins dark brown so that means the sun's gone down-
Jamaal: no, that actually means you’re of indopak descent.

Ali: So tell the molvi Saab the program was really good.
Jamaal: You liked it, aww that’s beautiful.
Ali: Yeah, the way it started with the curry, and then some potato put in here and there, then how he wrapped it all up at the end with a small piece of naan. Genius. Left a warm glow inside of me.
Jamaal: Inside your stomach?
Ali: Whoa Jam, you're like psychotic, that’s exactly what I was thinking.
Jamaal: I meant it you know; I do love you as a brother...
Ali: So I guess this is Salaam 'till next time.
Jamaal: Trying to help you out, takes my mind off my own worries, I could have been somebody! Now I'm just a nobody...At least you're not judging me, greasy, greasy curry.
Ali: Yeah, uh don't call me, I'll call you [gets up to leave, hurriedly] WOAH JAM go easy on the meat, The RSPCA would send you down, if they saw you chomping it ALL up like that!
Jamaal: You're right. What was I thinking?
Ali: Just watching you, putting away the munch like that, made me feel dead full.
Jamaal: Okay! I'm over it, already!
Ali: Sorry bro...It’s just that you're always so self rightemonious and condespending all the time, it feels weird to have the roles switched-
Jamaal: Don't you have to be going?
Ali: I thought you said you loved me?
Jamaal: I do, but the curry doesn't talk back to me!
Ali: I'm soo glad I'm not married to you!
Jamaal: What are you saying? I'D MAKE A GREAT HUSBAND!.
Ali: Hey whatever! I still wouldn't marry you!
Jamaal: Why not...come on... [Start to sing] "Tum paasse aye"...
Ali: uh oh...
Jamaal: ..."Tum paasse aye"...
Ali: Hey! Don't make me do this, I'm warning you [starts to slowly back away]
Jamaal: "Yun Muskurayee, Tum nena jane kya"
Ali: [whispers in a high pitched voice] "Sapne de khaye, Aabto mera dil"
Jamaal: "Jaane ka sota hai"
[Ali spins around to face jamaal]
Jamaal: "Kya karoon ha yaee"
Ali: [whispering in the same voice] "Kuch, Kuch hotha hai."

[Two little kids start clapping a beat, and Jamaal slowly stands up]

Jamaal:"NaJaane kaisa eh saas hai"
Ali: "Bujhti nahi hai, Kya pyaass hai"
Jamaal:"Kya nasha es pya ro kya"
Ali:"Mujpe sanam , Chaane laga"
Jamaal: "Koina Jaane, Kyun Chain Hota Hai"
Ali: [placing the back of his hand on his forehead] "Kya Karoon haye"
Both Together: "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai!"

[Some time later, outside The Masjid. Both of them a little breathless from the singing]

Jamaal: Y'know, I don't think they'll ever let us back in there again.
Ali: Nah, did you see the way the molvi was crying into the tissue?
Jamaal: Ha-ha No that must have been when the chapal hit me in the face!
Ali: I'll see you later bro. As Salaamu alaykum.
Jamaal: hey, no abbreviations Masha Allah!
Ali: Heyyy...
Jamaal: I'm kidding, Wa alaykum as Salaam brother.

They hug and walk off in their separate directions into the moonlit night.
They had a little too much sheesha that day.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

mashallah *thumbup*

i seriously love the Ali and Jamal read...its just soooo realistic..i can proper think of the characters and all...love the way theres the badman chatting of Ali and yet at the same time, there is a lot of real knowledge in the from of Ayahs and Hadith given by Jamaal...he has proper good da'wah techniques ya know!

i also like that spread on 'what islam means to you'..where youth from an aray of backgrounds shared their history and experiences....very interesting...especially the brother from cardiff who grew a beard just to get pocket money from his mom and also the sister who would pretend to pray but just hide under the bed...amusing..dare i say it...actually we shouldnt laugh..rather make dua for them...this is one of the reasons i love this mag so much, despite having read atleast 1 issue of practically every muslim mag published in the UK in my time...Revival knocks it on the head....

the name of the mag, REVIVAL..mashallah ..the muslim ummah, especially the muslim youth need to be revived from our stagnant (ooh big word πŸ˜‚ ) state....a very well thought out project *thumbup*

May Allah reward yall for your efforts

Wasalamalaikum

islamica? link plz

is that a magazine as well?

*DUST* β€” Sat, 22 Jul 2006 - 11:10

lol i'm actually only on the revival, posted on islamica for a bit but the revival's way better (as u shall soon come to find, cricketgal ;)) so back here for good. πŸ™‚

no islamica isn't a mag, unless u count it's online articles. its an american forum for muslim youth, but people of every nationality come on there. it's tooooo big, too many sections to navigate and therefore too complicated, i like the revival's simplicity. also i found there was way too much macking going on in there, even the mods were turning a blind eye to it, was uncomfortable with that.

yep.

there are loadsa glossy islamic magz in the UK - Emel and The Link are two big ones that come to mind. Q-News is well-known too but in its size and glossiness it isn't much different to the Revival.

Sirus β€” Sat, 22 Jul 2006 - 11:50

never heard of the link!

what ya on about.....Q news is better than the revival πŸ˜› glossy and bigger and colour and some good stuff in there

i'm looking at one now - it may have more pages, but the cover isn't any glossier. and obviously their target audience is completely different so i'm not talking about the content.

cricketgal β€” Sat, 22 Jul 2006 - 13:57

Asalamalaikum...

yes, islamica is a magazine, the link of which can be found here : http://www.islamicamagazine.com/ ..its a really intellectually stimulating magazine, with brilliant articles... their newest issue has just been released.

Islamica forums are different, and as stated before IS NOT affiliated in any way to the magazine.

And then theres the Revival forums...which IS affiliated to the Revival mag *faint* 8)

EDIT : sorry didnt realise the link had already been posted
