I resent that....it hos not truth in it.....kinda...lol

it certainly looks good on your rishta cv, plus its an experience, and it gives you many skills you would rather have than not, and it gives you a good chance of making something out of life......or so we are meant to believe

no point being there for someone elses sake

The Lover is ever drunk with love;
He is free, he is mad,
He dances with ecstasy and delight.

Caught by our own thoughts,
We worry about every little thing,
But once we get drunk on that love,
Whatever will be, will be.

I went to uni coz my mum said I had to.

It was probably the right thing to do.

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

My parents also want me to go uni and I think it'll help me considering the job I wanna do.

If my parents didn't care I would have been working in a restaurant long time ago.

I was thubking about this the other day - why did I go to uni?

I don't think I ever gave myself a choice. Uni was just a natural progression - school to college to uni.

I never thought about any other options.

Salaam

Lots of factors influence the decisions people take in life….the reason why I’m in higher education is so that I can professionally teach Islam in the near future.

I also know that being in higher education pleases my parents and is the norm of our society…also it was the natural transition from college, most of the people I associated with in high school stayed on to higher
education.

Wasalaam

I guess lots of things keep me in school, family and social responsibilities, I enjoy learning, I'd like to have a more personally meaningful career. I might actually go for a shortened LLM program at my school on top of the JD, later an SJD just for the hell of it.

Well I am/was in higher education coz I chose to study further (how crazy of me), my parents didn't pressurise me into it and supported my decision but wanted me to get education so it would benefit me.

I supose it has it's pro's/con's, if I get what I want out of this degree then I will be a very happy graduate and if not then I can say going to uni was a waste of time.

you know why :? , its the same reason as me so i can put off getting married for as long as possible Lol

no its to better yourself as an individaul and as a member of society, as knowledge is power and as brother malcolm said
"Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today"

My reasons are partly the same as Beasts. It seemed like a natural progression. But i had some of the best times of my life within the education system. I guess i loved studying, it kept my mind working..now it feels somewhat dead, no stimuli. I'm thinking of going back into education soon, just to keep an active mind, maybe do something i've always wanted to do but restrained myself from doing...Art.

have your parents encouraged/supported you in pursuing higher education?

I NEVER WORE IT BECAUSE OF THE TALIBAN, MOTHER. I LIKE THE MODESTY AND PROTECTION IT AFFORDS ME FROM THE EYES OF MEN.

My parents have supported me. They're well chuffed about me graduating.

Although they didn't let me move away from home.

I would have to uni anyway, even if my parents weren't fussed.
